My divorce started in 2014 with another attorney who did nothing for me other than collect a paycheck. That attorney just went through the motions, filed papers on my behalf ,had no compassion for my situation and I don't think she even knew my name half the time, but she definitely had her hand out ...for payment. As such, I fired my first attorney. After working with that attorney for several months, I hired another. My second attorney was more interested in how he appeared before the judge and was useless in helping me fight for my maintenance issues that I believed were unfair. Just like my first attorney, he went through the motions to collect his paycheck. After working with a second attorney for a my divorce, I was thousands of dollars in the hole.
