Steven G. Klesner was my attorney for my recent bankruptcy. In addition, he advised me on an earlier issue involving a creditor. Prior to my hiring Steve and proceeding with filing bankruptcy, he advised me about the meaning of this filing for my life. I felt that he offered sincere objective advice in a time of great turmoil. Because of his assistance, I will be better to handle my financial issues in the future. While bankruptcy is not something anyone wishes to have to do, when faced with job loss or other devastating life events, it is an important option for us to consider. Steve took the time that I needed to consider such a step. HIs legal work for the filing was excellent and he kept me informed throughout the process about what I needed to do next or what to expect. He is not only an excellent attorney he is compassionate and understanding but retains his objectivity in order to truly be of service during difficult times. I felt I truly had an advocate to rely on throughout this process.

Steve Klesner understands that legal proceedings can be intimidating, if not downright scary. I was both intimidated and afraid, as I had no training in this field.
From his calm, friendly manner to his constant willingness to explain every aspect of my case to my satisfaction, Mr. Klesner's patient, yet direct approach consistently communicated tremendous training and knowledge to me, as well as (and perhaps more importantly) to all other parties involved in my case.
He and his staff are responsive and thorough. I communicated with him via phone, fax, email, and in person. All calls were handled in person and all messages were returned immediately. Rates were quoted up front, and he always made time for me when I had questions. He was always on time. I have never met a more knowledgeable lawyer.
Most importantly, because of his very thorough, yet efficient data-collection process, my case was over in no time, the process was completely painless, and I learned a ton of valuable information that will help me in moving forward with my life. Steve walked me though the entire process and I got to keep my house, my cars, and my sanity. I am now much more organized, and much better prepared to handle my financial future.
I am glad Steve Klesner was my first call when I needed legal help, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs assistance.

Steven is a respected member of the Iowa bankruptcy bar. I practice in West Des Moines and have often called on Steven for his wise counsel on difficult/complex issues that have come up on my cases. Steven is a researcher. He consistently impresses me with his extensive knowledge not just of the overarching themes of consumer bankruptcy but also the nitty gritty, the little things that can take a client to a smooth discharge. Steven will dig into your case and spend time with you rather than shuffling you off to an assistant. I would encourage anyone fortunate enough to be in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City/Muscatine area or anywhere in Iowa to trust Steven with your bankruptcy case!
