Kelsey was not just a lawyer, she was someone I knew actually cared about my wellbeing and how me and my daughter were represented.
I have and will continue to refer anyone who is in need of representation!
Including adoptions, termination of parental rights, divorces, custody, visitation, and child support, as well as consulting on LGBTQ specific issues related to family law matters.
Including establishing or contesting juvenile or adult guardianships and conservatorships, or providing court visitor services.
I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. I attended Drake University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology in 2009. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, I worked at Pioneer (now Corteva) for a couple of years. I decided I hadn't had enough, so I went back to Drake and earned a Juris Doctorate Degree in 2014. From 2014-2017 I worked as an associate attorney at Culp, Doran & Genest in Des Moines. In 2017, I started practicing at Carr Law Firm, PLC. I practice mainly family and criminal law, but have experience drafting wills, closing small estates, starting small businesses, filing trademark applications, and representing members of the LGBTQ community on a variety of matters. In my free time I enjoy volunteering at the Animal Rescue League, baking, and trying to keep plants alive.
Seeing a lawyer is often a stressful experience by itself, on top of the already stressful experience that brought you into their office. I make it a priority to understand the specific needs of each of my clients, work with them to make sure they are comfortable with the process, and keep them informed.
