When I contacted Matt, I knew I was guilty but was hopeful he could get me a plea bargain. He could not. Then I was hopeful he could get me only probation. He could not. I had absolutely no criminal background and no previous charges. I was sentenced to nearly the maximum sentence. Mr. Borgula ...did a poor job preparing me for the steps along the way. When I plead guilty he hastily wrote something for me to say to the judge as we waited to plead. I had no experience with this sort of thing. The judge ask questions which I was not prepared to answer. Matt just said," I didn't know she would do that." She asked me to pay restitution when I plead. The week before I had asked Matt if I should bring money to do this and he told me not to. He did nothing to prepare me for the PSI. I was on my own. I felt lost and alone most of the time. I had asked him many things about jail in advance and most of the things he told me I found to be untrue. He does not know much about jail. He did a poor job informing the judge about anything. She still felt that the amount I owed was higher than what it was. I read the other reviews and am baffled. Maybe Matt just didn't like me. He did an adequate job but certainly not worth the money I paid. I could have represented myself and maybe just got another few months in jail.
