This was a situation where the bank added a nephew on as joint owner on a Checking Account. The owner was over 80 and blind. When the nephew declared bankruptcy the Bank took the money.

Shugg had a house burn down. Chase held the proceeds from the insurance and refused to pay off the mortgage. After Federal District Court dismissed the case on a technicality, the Sixth Circuit forced the Bank to be at mediation, and made them pay the client the money owed.
