Loren represented me in court for a typical DV case which usually doesn't end well for a male.
His AVVO rating is a 10 for a reason.
He was prompt in communication, utilized the law in the court room, and had my case dismissed before the bench trial.
Take my advice and the advice from the other ratings...If you have a desired outcome in court, Loren will describe how you shall reach that goal.

I was initially impressed with his prompt response to me, which continued throughout our relationship. He answered my questions and prepared me as best that he could. Mr. Dickstein is experienced, competent, prepared. He did the absolute best that he could for me and I am grateful for his hard work.

I was charged with retail fraud at Detroit Metro Airport. Makeup from a store. Dumbest thing I've ever done and I cannot even explain why. Zero reason. I hired Loren Dickstein. He handled the case without me having to come back to Michigan. I accepted a civil infraction with a fine and he got the shoplifting dismissed. Best result ever! I've never had to hire a criminal lawyer before and expect that I never will again, I'm certain he is one of the best in Michigan. Highly, highly recommended.

Here is my story...I lost my driver's license in 2010 after a DUI conviction. I'm a builder who has to travel from worksite to worksite so needless to say, I had to chose between driving without a license or losing my income. Unfortunately, I did both. I got to DWLS charges and lost most of my work because of my reluctance to drive, court appearances, probation and testing and more. My life turned to crap. I was ready to give up and never thought in a million years Michigan would grant me a license. I moved to Florida thinking I would start over but the Florida DMV found out about the Michigan revocation and took my license. I thought I was done. I found Loren Dickstein on the internet and called around to several other lawyers as well. Loren seemed to be extremely knowledgeable, confident and several other lawyers I called actually said how good he was. I hired Loren's firm thinking I was wasting my money because I couldn't win but I felt I had no choice but to try. Loren and his assistant, Katie, took a lot of time to get my evidence and letters so everything was perfect. He talked with my substance abuse evaluator to make sure she phrased everything they was the DLAD judge would want it. We went for an out of state review hearing and WON! I could not believe it. I though Loren did an amazing job but I never thought I would really win. I'm staying in Florida and I'm back to work and driving legally. Getting my life back! Thank you, thank you Loren. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a lawyer who can win when all the odds are against you.

When I was facing a charge, I called 3 other attorneys. Two of three gave me incorrect legal advice. The other one I retained. After 3 days of nothing and no return calls I found Loren Dickstein on here (Avvo). I read some reviews and decided that he would be the best attorney for me. I was 100% correct. I called him early in the morning around 7:38 am and he returned my call within 20 minutes and agreed to meet me first thing, so I went to his office. What happened next was amazing. Within 10 minutes he called the court, found out what the charge was and what it was about. He told me that he was positive that he could help. He went to court with me the first time to bond out and then Randy Lewis went to bat for me the next two court dates. They both worked as a team. Randy argued with the police officer on my behalf and in the end got my case dismissed just like he said would happen. I would put these two attorneys up against anyone because in the end they will win!

Here is a tip for anyone looking to hire an attorney: as tempting as it is, whatever you do, don't hire a family friend. I learned this lesson the hard way. When I was charged with a criminal offense in 2015, my life, job, and family were on the line. Our family friend is a lawyer and someone we're very close to. Our friend is been an attorney for about 25 years and has done all kinds of law including criminal defense. Even though I'm an adult with children of my own, I still value my parent's advice. They strongly recommended our family friend because we trust him and he's helped various family members out with things here and there. When I hired him, he felt like he could handle the case. Not long after he started working on my case, I started to suspect things might not be going as well as they could be going. Once my case got to Circuit Court, I talked to my lawyer/friend and told him my concerns. As it turned out, it was a big relief to him that we had the discussion and he admitted that he didn't have the experience necessary to get me the best outcome. Because I had already paid his fee in full and he was a friend, I didn't want him to leave my case and I asked him to help me find a specialist in criminal defense who could help me.
After searching around and talking to several attorneys, my friend recommended that I hire Loren Dickstein. When I met Loren, I had the distinct feeling that we had found the right person to make a difference in my case. The approach he suggested was actually opposite from what we had been doing. With one amazing letter and a talk with the prosecutor, he was able to get the deal for me that we had been trying to get for months. I was able to keep my career and stay out of jail. If everything goes as planned, I will end up without any criminal convictions on my record. I could not have asked for more and it's all thanks to Loren and his ability to see the path to victory.

I hired Loren Dickstein to represent me on a criminal case. His office and staff were very professional and I found him to be quite knowledgeable and informative. He became familiar with my credentials and personal information, which was helpful in negotiations with the prosecution and judge. He answered my questions promptly and completely. The outcome was very satisfactory and Mr. Dickstein lived up to his reputation. I was very happy with the services provided by him in my case.

The assistance I received from George Brown and Loren Dickstein was invaluable, and I cannot thank them enough for their support during one of the most difficult moments in my life. I was being unfairly held without the option of making bail, but George and Loren worked diligently on my behalf to find a clause that allowed me to be released on bail after all. I'll never be able to adequately express my appreciation for their efforts and expertise, and I highly recommend their services.

I contacted Geoffrey Fieger. I assume d for my case why not shoot for a high profile lawyer, especially with the prices I was being quoted. Might as well shoot to the top and price gauge. Mr. Fieger immediately called me back and said Mr. Dickstein and his firm was the remedy. It was. His prices are fixed and respectful to what you may find yourself involved with. I have hired him and his firm a half dozen times and that would not have occurred had I not had faith in him. Coming from a serious Italian background and all that comes with it, Loren passes the test of a very scrutinizing sort. No BS, no small talk, though he doesn't poo poo your legitimate concerns, but understand that reason and fairness is his expertise and he achieves it.
