I hired Mardee to represent me in my divorce with children. Long story short, I had to hire another lawyer because Mardee neglected to read motions, write up our shared parenting plans, and was rude to me when I called looking for advice. We had a settlement conference in which I felt pressured to agree to a 50/50 schedule, and giving up things that I believed strongly about. I did these things because Mardee (in-front of my husband and his attorney) whispered it was a fair deal. I did not know the law or what I was legally allowed to do, hence hiring an attorney. When I met with my new lawyer, I was informed that I only had 48 hours to file a response to a motion my husband filed or I would lose temporary custody of my child. My current lawyer has had to clean up a terrible mess, and has agreed that a more proactive approach from the beginning would have helped my case immensely. For what it is worth, I have heard my husbands attorney claim that Mardee was rude and nasty to hear in conversations, and in our settlement conference. Mardee kept reminding me that if my divorce went to trial it would end up with me spending thousands of dollars. I am in fact spending those thousands of dollars, but with someone who is actually helping me and happy to do her job. If you do not know the law and want someone to help you through this difficult time, Mardee is not the lawyer for you. I have never written a review for any product or service provided for me, but I feel I had to write this review in hopes of saving someone else the headache that Mardee has caused me.

I think Mardee did a wonderful job in my divorce. She always let me know what was going on and always copied me on the emails and letters she sent to my ex-husband's attorney. Plus if I called her or emailed her, she got back with me within a few hours. She was really good about working with my ex-husband's attorney on an agreement that was good for the children, but also that I felt good about. She was very encouraging and always ready to listen and explain things I did not understand. I was very happy with how everything wound up and would recommend her highly.
