Crenshaw v. Simione, 1988 WL 49460, No.13273, (9th District Ct. App., Summit, 5-11-88)

Practice Area: Consumer protection

Outcome: We won a large jury verdict. Upheld on appeal.

Description: Ms. Crenshaw took her Lincoln Continental to a shop for repairs. The shop did unauthorzed work, in excess of the price agreed upon. When Ms Crenshaw refused to pay more than she owed, the shop refused to release the car. We sued for breach of contract, violations of Ohio's Consumer Sales Practices Act, conversion and fraud. The jury awarded our client a substantial judgment that was then trebled by the judge pursuant to Ohio's Consumer Sales Practices Act. The verdict was upheld on appeal.
