Hire a good OVI lawyer. I just finished a case of this nature in northern Ohio west of Cleveland. Went very well for the client, but it took much work to get there. Your question is pretty thin on the facts so I can't say very much more.See question
I have my mother's inherited jewelry in the safe deposit box. How can I access my jewelry? Can the credit card company access my jewelry to satisfy judgment against my husband?
You will need to file a motion in the court that blocked access to the contents of the box. You will need to prove that you actually own the jewelry you claim is yours. If the total value of the jewelry is less than $1550 it would be exempt from creditor claims regardless of who owns it.See question
I have approximately 30,000 dollars in unsecured debt, but a substantial annual income of 80k.
You really need to speak with experienced bankruptcy counsel. You are falling into the same trap that many less experienced lawyers are in. Income is only one facet of the determination of bankruptcy Chapter. You need an attorney who is well versed in the means test. There are many other factors in addition to income and secured debt level in the means rest and the good faith test. Chapter 13 is not the end of the world. Again find the best bankruptcy lawyer you can. A proper budget is one that addresses your needs adequately while paying your creditors as you should. Since you blew over .08 the officer should have placed you under an ALS. Your attorney can petition to get you driving privileges now. Judges will impose some type of court suspension with limited driving even though the charge is reduced. I don't know any who don't.See question

You do not mention the form of your business. If you are a sole proprietor you are on the hook for everything. It sounds like you are noncollectible. That said many in your shoes ultimately decide on the bankruptcy option because even though you are low income it won't stop the onslaught of harassment from creditors and collectors. You are precisely the person bankruptcy was intended to help. Even if you file, it will not prevent you from paying the debts sometime in the future if You so choose. Your creditors just can't make you do it.See question

Having a joint debt means BOTH of you signed the original credit application. If you are simply an authorized user the extent of your liability could be your actual charges. If you are a true joint debtor are each liable for 100% of the debt. Best Buy doesn't care who pays it, so long as its paid. As a Joint debtor, if he files for bankruptcy protection you become solely responsible for the debt. Stuck is a good word. You don't mention the amount of the balance on the card, or the extent of your other debt. Bankruptcy might work for you as as well. You should consider it. At least schedule an appointment for a consultation to review your options.See question

It sounds like you are being sued by a debt buyer and not a debt collector. Blake is right. There a lots of great ways to defend these claims not the least being setting them up for a claim for damages under FDCPA. You need a lawyer who can handle theses types of cases.See question
I got a traffic ticket code 4511.213 Do I have to appear at the court Will there be any jail time or license suspension
The Ohio uniform traffic citation has a box that says whether you need to appear in court. If that box says so you can pay a waiver if you don't want to wast the time going to court. Many jurisdictions have so streamlined the waiver process that you can pay the ticket online. If the FR Shown box is not checked, I'd recommend you go to court with your proof of insurance card so that can be noted to avoid a noncompliance suspension. If you hire an attorney he can enter a not guilty plea to save you an going to the initial appearance.See question
I do owe money to said company due to an eviction and never received any paperwork or phone calls regarding a judgement. I was lead to believe if I had left the premises within 3 days there would be no further court appearances or actions taken. ...
Your story is not uncommon. I have many clients who have judgments for Lorain Municipal Court whose first actual notice of anything is a garnishment notice from an employer or a bank attachment. In Ohio you can only get relief from judgment if you can demonstrate to the court that you would win at trial. You might be able to get the money back if you appeal to the court and can prove it is from an exempt source such as wages, certain federal benefits, social security, or the earned income credit from you tax refund.See question
