I do not recommend this lawyer because I had my case with them before and they did not do a good job
Hi I had my case with Margaret Wong back in 2008 , and I paid everything in full because she promised that she had the experience to keep my case in court till my wife become a citizen and I can adjust my status but that was just a false promise because it was not even possible plus she requested...
Thank you so much for your comments. Suffering is very real when you have to leave, but you cannot imagine the pain and suffering you avoided by voluntarily departing. The consequences of not entering legally are severe, but depending on your case, this may not be as bad as it seems. The "10 year bar" sounds so harsh. It's the law, but it's not the only law, and we've been able to bring many clients back relatively quickly. Read through our deportation success stories at imwong.com.

My wife got deported....
My wife was in jail for waiting for deportation. I met the secretary at Atlanta office, and she took the case. I paid $12,000. Since then, I met Mrs Margaret Wong only once to discuss my case. She said she can take my wife from jail and find a way of getting her the green card. I met my lawyer who...
Thank you so much for reaching out to us. We know and understand and empathize with how you feel. Due to confidentiality rules, we can't address your case in this comment, but we can say that every case is unique, and almost every case has hope. Your wife's case may in fact not permit her to return, and that is a very sad thing. There are extenuating circumstances that make that so, and cannot be discussed on AVVO. However, US Immigration Law is constantly changing, and there may yet be hope for reuniting your wife with your family. If there's any immigration law firm in the United States who can help you with this difficult situation, it's Margaret W. Wong & Associates. We do much high risk, high impact litigation work with the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice attorneys to help our clients, and have precedent-setting cases at the Board of Immigration Appeals, District Courts and Circuit Court levels. One of our attorneys lost a loved one after 3 years of struggling with cancer. When our attorney watched and shared thoughts with the doctors and nurses and social workers, our attorney thought of the similarities between an immigration lawyer and an oncology (cancer) doctor. Just like the doctor, the attorney may not be able to "cure the disease," but we treat our clients with passion and care and offer world-class service. So if you don't like our results, that's okay. But don't let a defeat break your spirit. We are really pretty good at what we do and we're only getting better. Let's continue this immigration dialogue. Please call and schedule a phone conversation so we can review your file, and have a conversation.

Fee is high but not worth it..
I met her at the office in early 2005 to discuss about my case. I was divorced and living with my child who was American citizen. She offend me apply for asylum and get the green card. I have no idea how this things will go. She seems nice lady and signed the contract. Once the asylum case denied, sh...
Thank you so much for your review. The Green Card process is long and hard, and not everyone who tries gets one. But there are so many avenues, you have to remain positive. Each case is so unique, and every office of the Department of Homeland Security is run so differently, that there's no telling exactly how a case will result. We win almost all the cases we take on. That's very high. Most firms see somewhere between a 50 percent and 80 percent success rate. But we win more cases because we have over 35 years’ experience in U.S. Immigration law. Only by doing a high volume of work across the country can a good firm both see trends to see how the different offices of Department of Homeland Security perform. The best way to keep you in the US legally is with a work authorization that is obtained legally, a driver’s license, and a social security number so you can file your taxes. Margaret W. Wong & Associates does a lot of high risk, high impact litigation work with the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice attorneys to help our clients, and have precedent-setting cases at the Board of Immigration Appeals, district courts and circuit court levels. Each effort to take your case to another path and to another court level requires a separate contract, which is a requirement of Bar rules. This means we are still in the game and you are not being deported and the system is not shooting us down and we are not losing our battle. If you need a second opinion, ask another lawyer -- and recognize the right of the attorney to refuse to pursue your case. We care about every single one of our clients, and your complaint is no different -- we call right away and respond to every single call for help. And when we can explain something on that phone call, we do. But if we cannot, we tell our clients that we will call them back after we review their case -- not recalling your case when you call is a good sign -- it simply means we help thousands of people, and to have an effective call means we have to review your case. Good attorneys are doing a high volume of work across the country. Certainly, we remember lots of cases, but we may have three -- or even thirty -- we're working on today that are just like yours, and we want to speak with you with your case fresh on our minds. Please call and schedule a phone conversation so we can review your file, and have a conversation.

Worst Immigration lawyer for my life
I gave was not my 42B case to her seven years ago by paying $12,000. She took my case and I have two different lawyer who handled my case. During last seven years, they never informed me how the process going. They only called me couple of days before Hearing and asking for all kind of documents. W...
Reading your comments has really hurt my feelings. I do not think that your comments accurately represent our seven-year relationship. Although I cannot disclose confidential details of your immigration case under our professional code of conduct, I must note that our firm faithfully assisted you in staying in the United States and obtaining employment authorization over the course of seven years. However, over these seven years we also endured relentless complaints and requests for guaranteed results. As you know, it is ethically impermissible for us to guarantee an outcome in any immigration case. I would also note that while we contacted you on multiple occasions prior to the hearing you mentioned in your review, you did not take our firm advice with regard to gathering the evidence necessary to prevail in your case. Prior to the end of our attorney-client relationship, you again demanded a guaranteed result and free legal work. As you know, no attorney can make such a guarantee. Because I felt sorry for you, I offered you a very substantial refund of your fees, which you accepted (and thus, the amount you mentioned above is not accurate). I chose to end our relationship because your actions toward this firm’s attorneys and staff became threatening and abusive. Please keep in mind that obtaining lawful permanent residency in the United States is a privilege, not a right. As a reminder, many immigration benefits are time-sensitive, so you should seek another immigration lawyer as soon as possible. I wish you the best of luck with your immigration case.

Do not waste your money
I hired her and that same day we paid her 5,000 to help out with an immigration issue I am having. Not even 2 months later I decided to put everything on hold since I am pregnant and my pregnancy became high risk, so overwhelmed with doctor bills I asked her to please refund me my money since her off...
I am surprised. We undercharge the industry immensely. We need to be affordable to our clients. That being said, the legal industry generally doesn't refund. Most lawyers don’t refund anything. Even after the down payment, and after a lot of work is done, we only kept 500 out of the 5000 paid. Our clients should be happy with a 90% refund. We just cannot please everybody.
