Great Character

I fully endorse this lawyer. I highly recommend Margaret Wong and the legal services her firm provides. I have known her for several years and have found her to be very passionate about the rights of her clients. Whenever I need advice or information regarding immigration issues, I always think to ca...ll Margaret Wong. I would recommend any friend, family member or client to her for legal help with immigration matters, unconditionally.

Compasssionate and diligent

Ms Wong helped me get my green card when I was told my case was hopeless by two other lawyers. She even discounted the fees because I could not get my money back from the lawyer who botched my case up pretty badly. Ms Wong never made promises like the other lawyers but she promised she would try to h...elp me. And helped me she did. As busy as she was, she had different people keeping me informed on the progress. She is truly a godsend!!!

Be very careful All

I had a very bad experience with Margaret Wong and her firm. I paid $15,000 for my case of politic asilum, and when I received the appointment for my first interview, she told me she wanted another $15,000.more,They think we have a money-making machine; how sad to encounter such unscrupulous people. ...

Thank you for this comment, Mr. Armando. I would love to talk with you about this case. It appears you are not familiar with standard case procedure where multiple matters make up a whole case. I'm not sure exactly who you are as we handle many asylum cases, but it's customary to charge one fee for the initial filing, and then separate fees for subsequent parts of the case. You got an interview! That tells me that the asylum filing was a success. We filed your asylum application, and now you need us to assist you with the asylum interview. At this point you have a choice. You may work with another law firm, or you may work with the law firm that successfully filed your asylum application. Any immigration law firm will charge you separate fees for separate parts of the process. When you understand that the $15,000 fee we are charging you for the asylum interview is worth every penny, please call us, and we will assign one of our asylum interview expert attorneys to work with you.

The WORST attorney I have ever used. Thousands spent, and she turfed me as a client after I was denied - TWICE!

This was back in 2007, I was trying to adjust status into the US. She told me, "No problem, this is a simple case, I'll have you in within a couple of weeks. Don't worry." She is very convincing as a salesperson, and her marketing is second to none - lots of advertising, radio, TV interviews, she... puts on the good face of a concerned immigration attorney who wants to look out for your best interest. Don't you believe it: what she is really looking out for is her bank account. I handed over $5,000 and as soon as she had my money, she was virtually impossible to contact. From that point onward, everything was done by inept paralegals who made many blatant mistakes. They would send me paperwork to sign, I would identify all the mistakes and send it back. They would fix the mistakes and send it back, whereupon I would find even more mistakes. This would go on over and over again with every document. It was like they either didn't care, or weren't properly trained. The paralegals did incredibly incompetent, sloppy work. USCIS is so exacting that even a tiny mistake on a form can result in rejection. It was horrifying that Ms. Wong's paralegals were intending to submit these forms on my behalf with so many blatant errors. The first visa application she submitted was denied. USCIS said that I did not qualify for the visa for which Ms. Wong told me I qualified "no problem, don't worry." Once again, she told me "No problem," and she had me reapply with a different type of visa which she "for sure" knew I would be approved. Months wasted and even more thousands of dollars down the drain, and USCIS denied that visa application as well - again, they said I did not qualify for that visa, even though Ms. Wong again had told me I more than qualified. $12,000 and two denied visa applications later, Ms. Wong said she would call and work on appealing my second denied application. But not to worry, if they still denied it, she said I could just "marry my US girlfriend and file a spousal visa." Weeks went by, I sent multiple emails and left countless voice mails. Time was running out. I finally got her on the phone. "Oh sorry, did nobody get back to you? Yes, well, I talked to them, and they didn't seem to think it would go through, so I don't really see a way of this working out. Sorry. Maybe you should talk to a different lawyer, you might have better luck with them." Are you kidding me? $12,000 spent, and absolute minimal effort on her part. When the decisions didn't go the way she repeatedly promised me they would, she turfed me as a client and told me to go try a different immigration lawyer! I did exactly that. My new immigration lawyer looked at her work, called it "shoddy" and "borderline fraudulent" and told me that BOTH visa applications she had me attempt were not correct for me. He also told me that the advice Ms. Wong had given me about using a spousal visa was ethically wrong and would likely have had me being charged with fraud had I attempted it. Today I am a naturalized US Citizen. No thanks to Margaret Wong and her staff of incompetent bumblers. I would stay FAR away from this woman and her practice.

Rude and very unprofessional

I put my trust and invested so much money going with Ms. Wong for my green card application. The attorney who worked on my case was very disorganised, made several filing mistakes which cost me several weeks of delay and a lost flight ticket. I was very dissapointed by my experience and by some rude ...comments Ms. Wong made to me. I have discouraged several of my friends to go with Ms. Wong office because they lack in professionalism and customer service.

Thank you so much for this review. I am so sorry you had a poor experience with us. We try so hard. It seems from your review that you got your Green Card, but were unhappy with the process. Is this correct? If that's the case, congratulations on getting your Green Card. Getting your Green Card is not easy, especially in the current climate. I invite your friends to compare our results with those of other attorneys. Our success rate is very high. Please feel free to call me at 216-952-8419 if you wish to discuss this further. I've been thinking about your case since I've not heard from you. I asked my lawyers about canceled flights and acting like an absent-minded professor. They've all had canceled flights, and they are all aggravated by the difficult immigration policies that are in place now. So please help me help you. I want you to be happy. Life is too short to not be.
