I do not recommend this lawyer because I had my case with them before and they did not do a good job

Hi I had my case with Margaret Wong back in 2008 , and I paid everything in full because she promised that she had the experience to keep my case in court till my wife become a citizen and I can adjust my status but that was just a false promise because it was not even possible plus she requested... a voluntary departure which baring me from adjusting my status for 10 years and she did Not even explain to me anything , i donot recommend her to any body please avoid her because I suffered a lot and so many years because of her mistakes she only gives false promises and ask to pay a lot of money I paid more than 15000 and she complicated my case and made me suffered

Thank you so much for your comments. Suffering is very real when you have to leave, but you cannot imagine the pain and suffering you avoided by voluntarily departing. The consequences of not entering legally are severe, but depending on your case, this may not be as bad as it seems. The "10 year bar" sounds so harsh. It's the law, but it's not the only law, and we've been able to bring many clients back relatively quickly. Read through our deportation success stories at imwong.com.

My wife got deported....

My wife was in jail for waiting for deportation. I met the secretary at Atlanta office, and she took the case. I paid $12,000. Since then, I met Mrs Margaret Wong only once to discuss my case. She said she can take my wife from jail and find a way of getting her the green card. I met my lawyer who...se name is William at the Atlanta Immigration Court. He didn't even know my name and my situation at all. He was not prepared for trial at all. He didn't even bring the document I submit. Anyway, he didn't answer to the judge and judge got so mad he didn't prepared. We have to reschedule second trial other day. But he said he can't take this case anymore and said he give up. They said only option I have is to voluntarily leave this country and comeback within 10 years. She said my wife can comeback within 10 years if she leave this country voluntarily. But if she got deported, she can comeback within 10 years. Later I found out that is total lie.....either case, she can't comeback. Anyway, my wife left this country, and I am living here with two kids. Terrible thing was that she suggested me go to my wife and marry there and bring back my wife. I did what she told me but i couldn't bring my wife from there. My experience with Margaret is terrible....

Thank you so much for reaching out to us. We know and understand and empathize with how you feel. Due to confidentiality rules, we can't address your case in this comment, but we can say that every case is unique, and almost every case has hope. Your wife's case may in fact not permit her to return, and that is a very sad thing. There are extenuating circumstances that make that so, and cannot be discussed on AVVO. However, US Immigration Law is constantly changing, and there may yet be hope for reuniting your wife with your family. If there's any immigration law firm in the United States who can help you with this difficult situation, it's Margaret W. Wong & Associates. We do much high risk, high impact litigation work with the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice attorneys to help our clients, and have precedent-setting cases at the Board of Immigration Appeals, District Courts and Circuit Court levels. One of our attorneys lost a loved one after 3 years of struggling with cancer. When our attorney watched and shared thoughts with the doctors and nurses and social workers, our attorney thought of the similarities between an immigration lawyer and an oncology (cancer) doctor. Just like the doctor, the attorney may not be able to "cure the disease," but we treat our clients with passion and care and offer world-class service. So if you don't like our results, that's okay. But don't let a defeat break your spirit. We are really pretty good at what we do and we're only getting better. Let's continue this immigration dialogue. Please call and schedule a phone conversation so we can review your file, and have a conversation.

REVIEW

Attorney Wong filed a green card application on my behalf. She told me that she will personally handle my case, because she's the best attorney in town. She also told me her fees are high, but "you get what you pay for". I believed her. Later I found out that she threw my application to paralega...ls who didn't even finish paralegal school, and although her signature was on the document she told me she didn't sign it, and that she has no idea which attorney, if any, supervised the work. I don't recommend Mrs. Wong. She will tell you she's the best, then takes your money and forgets about you.
