Kristina W. Supler has extensive first and second chair jury trial experience. Ms. Supler has represented individuals and entities across the United States of America and abroad. Her skills are called upon in complex federal and state investigations and prosecutions due to her ability to organize and analyze evidence into concise and persuasive defenses. With a particular concentration on federal litigation, Ms. Supler is regularly involved in the defense of matters related to cybercrime, child exploitation, technology offenses, bank fraud, healthcare fraud, tax fraud, mortgage fraud, and money laundering.
Recognizing that many legal matters can be resolved prior to trial, Ms. Supler continually researches legal precedent and drafts winning briefs. She has written briefs that are highly sought after by attorneys across Ohio and the country. Ms. Supler has achieved success within the appellate realm as well. She has written and argued appeals in appellate courts throughout Ohio and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Her appellate advocacy has enabled previously convicted individuals serving extended sentences to have their convictions vacated without retrial or further prosecution.
Prosecutors, investigators, and opposing counsel appreciate her direct approach. Additionally, colleagues outside of this jurisdiction frequently entrust Ms. Supler to serve as local counsel for matters being litigated in Ohio’s state and federal courts.
Ms. Supler believes that open communication is the key to successful representation of a client. She works to build a relationship founded upon trust with every client in order to help the client feel as comfortable as possible with the investigative and legal process. She encourages client involvement and open communication, as they are instrumental in the development of an effective defense strategy.
In 2013, Ms. Supler was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), which is the preeminent criminal defense organization in the country with nearly 10,000 general members. In addition to being one of only 35 board members, Ms. Supler is an active member of the NACDL White Collar Committee and the Indigent Defense Committee. Within the Cleveland area, she serves as an appointed board member for the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Alumni Association.
Ms. Supler is a nationally published author and speaker. She has authored a variety of criminal defense articles for national publications. Her lectures address topics such as sentencing strategies and the defense of computer-related offenses.
