I was charged with an OVI recently with an alleged moderately high BAC of 0.14. Being a highly sub-specialized physician in the area, it could potentially have had a significant impact on my career, however, hiring the services of Andrew Bucher helped me avoid them. Andrew is not only an excellent attorney but even a better person. He really went out of his way to help me with the case and charged a nominal fee even though the case took a longer course for various reasons. He has tremendous trial skills and the know of how local area courts which proved extremely valuable in achieving a positive outcome in my case. His expertise in the OVI/DUI case law are by far one of the best in the State of Ohio and one should definitely hire a dedicated sub specialized lawyer for such an offense sort of similar to seeking help from a neurosurgeon for a brain tumor rather than a chest surgeon. My charges were reduced to a non alcohol related offense which are amazing results given the complexity of my case. He's an extremely busy attorney in the regional area and travels to various local county courts frequently, however, he's always very attentive and receptive to the needs and concerns of his clients. Andrew is always very open and honest about the nature of the case and what his clients are being faced with however works tirelessly to achieve an excellent outcome for them.
Andrew has become a friend to me through this ordeal. My family and I are extremely grateful to him. I would highly recommend hiring his services and by far one would make one of the best decisions of his life by hiring his services under such circumstances.
I really think Andrew is one of the top attorneys in the state of Ohio in the field of OVI/DUI laws and this is not only my opinion but highly experienced OVI attorneys feel the same about him whom I have also interacted during the course of my case.

In September of 2013 I received a traffic citation in Auglaize County. Rather than take the easy way out and just pay the fine, because I believed I was not guilty, I engaged Andrew's services to fight the citation in court. I live out of state and Andrew handed all of the pre-trial hearings without me having to appear, which was a great benefit to me. During this process he kept me continually updated, primarily through email, to let me know where I stood.
The day of the trial, we were confronted with a unique situation by the prosecution's main witness. Andrew's understanding of the law, even in this somewhat oblique situation was paramount in getting the verdict I got. Andrew challenged the prosecution in an appropriate manner and it was obvious the judge respected his demeanor and the position Andrew was conveying. I believe Andrew actually helped guide the judge in the applicable law precedent for what we were encountering.
Obviously the best recommendation comes from a successful outcome, but without Andrew's help and counsel I am convinced the chances of success would have been greatly diminished.
No one WANTS to have to hire a lawyer, but if I had to again I would not hesitate to have Andrew represent me.

I was wrongfully charged with DUI, but didn't know the area, so went the wrong way on a one-way...whoops!
Andy was realistic, helpful, and very forward during the consultation. If you want to hear the truth of things and how they worked out, pick Andy. If you want platitudes and to be told everything's okay... look elsewhere. He's realistic, friendly, and attentive.
If I had ANY single "warning" it would be that Andy is very busy. He has many clients, and works the hell out of every case. Because of this, if you expect him to pick up at all times of the day... just don't. Call his office, he keeps Sarah super informed, she's extremely friendly, and they'll make sure any questions are answered. Just leave a message with her.
He knows every client, knows your case, and will fight for you. Honestly I wish we had gone to trial in my specific instance, but he also knows where your case lies.
His rate is reasonable, he's good at his job, and damn am I happy I hired him. Whether it was notes or not, he brought up things in the sentencing I did not even remember telling him. THAT is attention to detail.
My specific case: Charged with OVI, reduced to Minor Reckless Operation with no impairment due to the nature of the case. With the evidence that was initially going to be brought against me this could not have happened without Andy's help.
He sought avenues that we had not even discussed. He's not just trying to get your money and get out. He's attentive, awesome, and all around a good guy. If I still drank he's the kind of person you'd want to have a beer with after. I know that sounds odd, but that's the vibe he gives off.
10/10. Just freaking hire Andy. Done and done. You won't get a better attorney.

Andy’s unique experience in pharmacology and his unrelenting will in defending his clients make him an ideal choice for any individual charged with an OVI. Andy has obtained more training and knowledge over the past few years than most law enforcement officials will have in a lifetime, and he is not afraid to put this knowledge to use in the courtroom. Having presented at a few seminars with Andy, I am always impressed with his ingenuity and ability to communicate complicated scientific principles in simple terms. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
