I have had interactions with many attorneys in town, and frankly I have just been disenchanted with many in the profession. I became frantic with this critical choice of selecting a powerhouse attorney that would fight for me and my children. After investigating, researching, and fielding through the list of top attorneys in Knoxville ~ and calling and meeting with several ~ I chose Sam English. Sam English quickly assessed that I had trust issues ~ and told me that the only way he could work on my behalf is if I trusted him. I took a chance on him ~ for me, trusting a man is very difficult ~ especially an attorney. However, Sam English proved himself to be trustworthy. He was a calming force in my storm. Sam English spent time reviewing documents (which had accumulated over 3 years). He counseled me in a high stakes case. He got allegations dismissed and documents dropped. He also referred me to a fabulous family counselor for my children, husband, and I ~ whom we continue to see. Sam's reputation and affiliations have continued to reveal a true class act. To Sam English's benefit, I must say that opposing counsel dragged her feet and delayed response time to keep it a challenge to remain informed. I do not blame Sam English for this. My husband said that his shrewd attorney thought Sam English to be a formidable force. Sam English was as effective as the water doused over the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz ~ for my husband and his attorney's allegations and documents melted away. I first hired Mr. English in 2008 for a divorce, and I have retained him several times to handle various issues with my ex since my divorce. The most important thing to me was the custody of my children and Mr. English has ALWAYS taken care of any and all matters that come up. My advice is to get an ...attorney that not only knows the law but treats you like a person that he truly wants to help. Mr. English has always done that. No one wants to go through a divorce but if you have to there is no one better. I have referred a number of my friends to him and they all have been as pleased with the end result as I have been. If you are starting the divorce process, you should at least have a consultation with Mr. English. It is important to get someone you can work with because the legal issues don't always stop with signing of the divorce papers, especially if you have children involved. Most people have trouble trusting attorneys, I certainly did, but Mr. English is an attorney you can trust. He is a very successful attorney therefore an extremely busy attorney. Divorce is a long process and Sam does a good job of making sure the cases that require immediate attention are taken care of, so correspondence didn't always come as quickly as I liked at first but when I learned to trust him I could relax and let him handle things. That is what he has always done.......handled EVERYTHING on the time table that it needed to be handled, even if it wasn't as quickly as I would have liked. If you are starting this process please know that it is a long one and the hardest thing for me was to wait. When I learned to trust Mr. English waiting stopped being so hard because I KNOW that he has it covered!
