Demi R. Marks is an attorney at McCracken Law PLLC. She is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, California, and American Bar Associations. Demi is licensed to practice in both Tennessee and California.
Prior to joining the firm, Demi was working in Beverly Hills, California at a boutique family law firm catered to high net worth individuals and complex family law litigation. There, Demi worked on a wide range of cases from post judgment enforcements of qualified domestic orders to child and animal custody cases. Demi’s favorite part of her job was working with her clients to develop creative solutions in their divorces and advocating for them.
In law school, Demi studied with the esteemed collaborative law professional, Forrest “Woody” Mosten and soon realized her passion for family law. Through Woody’s mentorship, Demi was able to develop her skills in mediation, collaborative law, and hybrid solutions to tricky family law situations. After graduation, Demi worked with Woody as a research assistant on his book Unbundled Legal Services: A Family Lawyer’s Guide. Demi is passionate about the collaborative process and mediation and believes in incorporating these methods to come up with harmonious solutions for family units to redefine their relationships.
In addition to her work in family law, Demi previously comes from an entertainment law background, having worked at Amazon, NBCUniversal, and Sony in various capacities throughout her time in Los Angeles.
Demi attended UCLA School of Law where she was the President of the Entertainment Law Society, Chief Articles Editor for the Entertainment Law Review, and Submissions Editor for the Journal of Law and Technology. Demi’s article entitled The Internet Doesn’t Forget: Redefining Privacy Through an American Right to Be Forgotten was published in Volume 23 of the UCLA Entertainment Law Review and can be accessed at: https://escholarship.org/uc/uclalaw_elr/23/1.
Demi grew up in South Florida and attended Tufts University in Massachusetts for her undergraduate studies where she created her own major in Children’s Entertainment and minored in Entrepreneurial Leadership. Demi serves as an alumni interviewer for Tufts in the Nashville region.
When Demi is not at work, she can typically be found hiking the greenways with her fiance and their two pups, Riggins and Wild, or riding her horse, Biggie. Demi is a passionate advocate of animals and volunteers with various organizations.
