She has practiced family law in both the State of Georgia and now the State of Tennessee.  She is a native of Memphis, Tennessee where she went to undergraduate school and law school. She was a paralegal in Nashville, Tennessee for a few years after undergraduate school before going to law school.

While going through her own divorce, she worked for a clinical research organization negotiating contract negotiations for clinical drug trials. It was boring, and she missed the courtroom and engaging with and helping clients get through tough times, so after her divorce she got back into the practice of law.
