What do you need to know? The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Sit back, because I’m going to give the full take on working with John Meadows. I have worked with Mr. Meadows over a considerable period of time covering 2 high-conflict and nuanced child custody cases and one child support adjustment case that should have been simple, but like the custody cases, wa...s contentious and turned sideways. During the first conversation I ever had with Mr. Meadows, he told me, “We practice law, but we play to win.” In fact, through persistence and patience, we have won time and time again. He is tenacious and meticulous. He is passionate and insistent. He knows an inordinate amount of family law, and he has used his knowledge to navigate the endless smokescreen of unbelievable antics that we have faced from both opposing counsel and a high-conflict parent. When the high-conflict parent tried to get an attorney-friend involved to shake me down for money, Mr. Meadows ran off the attorney who refused to appear before the court. When opposing counsel for the high-conflict parent continually broke the rules of conduct during depositions, Mr. Meadows sent him sheepishly scrambling, presenting him the law that showed where he was breaking protocol, thus admonishing the opposing counsel and setting us back on track. If that opposing counsel had been my attorney, I would have been concerned that he was going up against Mr. Meadows. Why do I point this out? Mr. Meadows will be cordial and professional, but he will not back down from other attorneys; he will protect your interests. He is not one to be rattled. He has helped me protect my children to the best of our ability and within the confines of what we can reasonably do for our case. As a father, he has helped me gain full custody of two children who were severely mistreated by their mother. After a prolonged court battle that should have been settled shortly after it was filed, he did a masterful job in presenting a case that led me to being awarded a substantial sum of attorney fees. What do you need to know? The Good, The Bad, The Ugly…Mr. Meadows is compassionate and I believe he truly cares about my family. I believe he cares about justice. He sees the imperfection of the family courts and he does his best to help you navigate it. If you’re going to work with him, you need to trust him. You need to have some thick skin because he’s not going to tell you what you want to hear…he’s going to tell you what he thinks you need to hear, and frankly, sometimes it just might piss you off. But that’s ok, have a conversation with him and communicate like an adult. He needs to know what you know and what you think. Don’t hide the ball from him, so to speak. He’s going to give a picture of what could happen, and trust me, sometimes it’s not what you want to hear. But as he likes to say, “it’s never as good as it seems and it’s never as bad as it seems.” He is accessible, which is huge. If you call him, he will call you back, but he also expects you to call him back when it’s time to work. He’s going to do his part, that’s why you pay him, but he demands you do your part. That’s part of what makes him great. I hold Mr. Meadows in the highest regard. He is trustworthy, passionate, tenacious, highly intelligent, proven, and he will not back down. I hope that I never have to utilize his services again, but if I do need them, I will call on him without hesitation. I trust him because he truly plays to win...
