Would not recommend

Was lied to several times by him and his staff about the status of our case. Never got updates unless we called and asked and then we were charged for the call. Filings were late. Clerks office said his filings always have issues. The ladies in the office were talking to my ex-husband and relaying co...nfidential info to him, I found out after the fact. They thought he wouldn’t repeat it to me, but he did. He and his staff cannot be trusted.

Lost my entire world

I have worked with Shane for almost five years on divorce and child custody issues. For every time he tells you how much he cares it is a sales job. I've had 5 lawyers review his work all of which have responded it was "so so bad". He lacks any initiative. His billing practice are a scheme. Afte...r losing my children, he had the never to suggest I might need medication for being upset! Went from full custody, to limited two days a month visits. A law abiding, rule following, never been in trouble a day in my life citizen- who I might add the father walked out on the kids and never pursued custody initially!! He had the nerve to come to my hearing upset over his dogs' death and missing vacations while all the while never revealing the other side had subpoenaed a witness (which I had asked about on many occasions). Allowed my child to take a stand, under the age of 12. Never took a deposition, refused to push for anything fearing to upset the Judge. All the while assuring me I had a better than 90% chance of success. Even told me he would postpone a hearing if I didn't pay an invoice (under $2000) that I'd had for 7 days. I might add each invoice was always paid in full within 30 days. After all that, stopped accepting my monthly payments, for the last bill, after having to retain another attorney to appeal and undo everything he had done. Yet, was worried kept calling the new lawyer office to ensure nothing bad had been said about him to me. It's about money and ego with this one. On the surface these other folks had good experiences, he will pet on you when it's convenient for him. Do not mistake that for being genuine.

DO NOT HIRE SHANE, overconfident moron! Negative star.

I have found many good reviews on Shane which led me to choose him with a custody issue. Not only did Shane NEVER return my calls, he also got me absolutely nowhere and actually lost me holidays with my child. He was late to mediation and lied to me in mediation about the person bringing me there p...aying fees. His charging was absolutely off and for a 5 minute phone call, I was always charged 0.5 hours. Long process and got nowhere. He is a complete idiot and arrogant jerk, that thinks he is something else. Luckily I have found a new lawyer in that area to go back and get my daughter full time, who also said I made a mistake going to Shane. I will post my review on the new lawyer as he is the same pricing but much more enthusiastic and is determined to get my holidays, possible full custody, and the ex to pay all legal fees, including the ones Shane stated she would pay. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!

Since this review was posted anonymously, we have no way of knowing whether this person is an actual former client, opposing party who is unhappy our client received a favorable outcome or someone else. That said, we pride ourselves on returning our client's calls. Our phones are even forwarded to one of our attorneys on nights and weekends. If you leave a message, you will always receive a return call, usually within the hour. We find it interesting that this alleged client claims we "NEVER" returned their calls but, somehow "always" billed him for our telephone conversations. As for mediations, our attorneys usually have the client meet us at the office so we may ride together to ensure we are early. We always send a letter in advance telling our clients to bring enough money to cover at least two (2) hours of the mediators time. We send detailed bills showing any and all work performed on a given case. If a client disputes any aspect of our billing, we review it with them and, if necessary, make adjustments. As for legal fees, we NEVER promise any client that the other side will pay all of the legal fees. Each party is responsible for their own legal fees unless 1. The Court orders otherwise or; 2. One of the parties agrees to pay the other's legal fees.
