Vogel was helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and thorough.
After meeting with Doug Vogel, we left his office with a better understanding of Alabama law and with confidence for our future. He patiently and professionally answered all of our questions. He personally reviewed the estate planning documents with us to make sure they accurately met our needs and reflected our wishes. We are completely satisfied with the work he has done for us and will definitely seek his counsel again.
Doug helped our family 10 years ago with my husband's parents' estate and trust accounts. Both parents were later diagnosed with Dementia, and so timing was very important to take care of everything. He is a life saver with all this. Now my husband's father has passed and his mother is still with us, but we are preparing for her to go into the nursing home, and it's so comforting to know the estate is secure through Doug's help.
Doug began his legal career at age 39 by accepting the Eagle Academic Scholarship at Faulkner University’s Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama. While attending law school he worked as a Staff Assistant with the Beasley Allen Law Firm in 2003 and 2004. In October of 2004 he accepted a position in practice with long time Montgomery estate planning attorney Tom Kotouc. In April of 2007, Doug was admitted to the Alabama State Bar, and later the Florida Bar. He is now the managing partner of Kotouc and Vogel Law Firm.
Doug concentrates his practice in the areas of elder law, estate and trust planning, probate, and small business formation. He is also a VA accredited attorney and he has helped many Veterans and widows of Veterans obtain the VA Pension with Aid and Attendance. Doug has professionally lectured on elder law, Medicaid eligibility, estate planning, and probate.
Doug is an active member of the Elder Law Section of the Alabama Bar, the Montgomery County Bar, and the Christian Legal Society.
Prior work experiences include: Loan Officer with United Carolina Bank in Shallotte, North Carolina; Youth Minister with the Church of Christ in Ballinger, Texas; and Special Education teacher in San Angelo, Texas.
Doug resides in Wetumpka, Alabama with his wife, Ann. They have two adult children. His interests include golf, fishing, kayaking, and co-leading the men's ministry at his church.

Great Lawyer!
I highly recommend Doug Vogel if you are searching for an attorney! Doug has been helping me take care of my parents' affairs for over five years. My close friend referred me to him because he has done an excellent job of estate planning for her, and I am very glad I hired him! His expert knowledge of eldercare law has enabled me to make sure my parents were getting all the VA benefits to which they were entitled. Doug also prepared my parents' wills and made sure everything was done properly. Doug always fills out the many confusing forms that come with taking care of elderly parents. Anytime I have a question, Doug is happy to listen to me and answer my questions thoroughly. Doug is very patient, and my parents like him, too. I had friends tell me how hard it was for them to try to take care of their elderly parents without legal help, but it has been a blessing to have Doug Vogel doing all of that work for me. Be sure to give him a call!
