I would recommend you write a letter to the debt collector and dispute the debt. Ask for written proof of the validity of the debt and the payment history. The payment history on this debt will show whether the statute of limitations on this debt has passed pursuant to Alabama law. I would advise you to talk to the co-signer on this debt and ascertain the facts related to this det. I would then suggest you consult with an attorney to discuss your options regarding this matter.See question

Your husband cannot be arrested for debt to Aarons unless he obtained the items based on fraud or similar circumstances. I would advise you to allow Aarons to come recover the leased items and have a witness present. I would alos suggest you video the items upon them picking items up. Under Alabama law you may record your conversations with Aarons as long as a 3rd party is not involved in the telephone conversation.See question

My "ex" has provided health insurance on me our entire marriage 10+ years. If he agrees and is willing can he continue to cover me on his insurance through his employer?
Most employers insurance plans now only allow the "ex" to remain on their health insurance plan after the divorce is final up to one year or allow the "ex" to apply for "Cobra". If you have children from this marriage they can remain on the health insurance plan. Your ex can agree to pay the "Cobra" insurance coverage for you.See question

As your name is the only one on the mortgage you are responsible for the mortgage loan as to the mortgage company. Any missed payments or late payments adversely affect your credit. If you are still in process of divorce you may petition the Court for Contempt against your wife for failing to pay the mortgage if it was outlined in your temporary Order pending final action in your divorce. If you have made those mortgage payments yourself, you would ask the Court to award you that amount and also ask for attorney fees. I strongly urge you to consult with your divorce attorney as the mortgage company will take all legal remedies against you and the property in the very near future.See question
