5 star representation from a 5 star man

I retained Mr. Blevins for my divorce in which minor children were involved and the other party was making much more difficult than need be. He represented me from start to finish, a total of about 15 months that included multiple court appearances and finally mediation. While the other party was hav...ing to jump through hoops with repeated calls and messages to get in touch with his attorney, waiting days for a response, and most times only being able to communicate with a secretary, I always had confidence in Mr. Blevins’ availability when needed. Through everything he never failed to keep me accurately updated on my case and always promptly and personally replied to my communications, answering all questions no matter how complicated or insignificant they were. He is very professional and takes a personal interest in his client’s case and provided confident and accurate advice regarding whatever issues arose. His fees are very reasonable for the personal attention and peace of mind he provides. I am a worrier by nature but he was able to ease my mind regarding all aspects of my case. I am very pleased with the outcome of my divorce settlement and the service he provided for me. I feel extremely blessed to have found Mr. Blevins and highly recommend him to anyone in need of an attorney.

Pricey

Requested assistance to interpret my divorce decree and how to ensure it is enforced. He did advise that the retainer would be $800. I didn't realize that the retainer was simply to answer the question rather than do anything further, such as filing to enforce. That's an expensive question, while oth...er attorneys offer free consultations. He does answer promptly. He did answer my question. I'm just disappointed that an answer cost $800.

There is a grave distinction between a free consultation and receiving legal advice. A free consultation generally consists of an attorney answering questions of a general nature without necessarily knowing the specific details of a case. In order to give a legal opinion or advice, i.e. interpreting a divorce decree and advising one on his/her legal rights, an attorney must first be retained. The attorney would then review pertinent court filings and any relevant authority on the issue in order to give an opinion upon which you can rely. This takes time and, therefore, costs money. The sum charged for services rendered represents the time spent in performing these tasks. I regret that you believe the retainer was expensive.
