I've seen several reviews about money. Ted was very up front at the beginning and a number of times he flat out told me verbatim "If you and the ex could come to an agreement, it will cost you a lot less! If we can keep this outta court, it will cost you a lot less. You're paying me to advise you and that's my advice!" It was over parenting plans and it went to court. And it did cost me a lot of money, and I have no regrets as far as hiring him. I didn't want the divorce (knowing what I know now I would have left the tramp long before) and I didn't want to be an every other weekend Dad as the ex was demanding. I'm the residential parent with an atypical work schedule that has my child 52% of the time around my work schedule. Divorce is not pleasant. It wasn't pleasant for the two years it took to go to trial. I'm thankful for Ted. Everything is kind of a blur, but he got me through it.
Also, I recommended him to 4 of my friends. All were pleased with him.

> Stay far away from this lawyer! I hired him nine months ago for something very basic paid the 4K retainer and he hasn't done anything to help my case ! He stalls, makes excuses and lies to you . Tells you how great he will be upfront until he gets your retainer then sits on it , loves to argue with you . The reviews are bad for a reason! It took me another lawyer to help me get out of this overpriced mess. I will be going to the judge about him and will be filing a grievance and hopefully he will be disbarred. This man should not be practicing law he is arrogant berating, and over bills like crazy! $80.00 for a 10 second voicemail he left me . This was a very simple modification case in which he told me upfront that it would never go to trial because he such a great negotiator once he got my money he sat on it and build me an over billed me for every little made-up thing . Do not give him a chance you will be out tons of money and time and chances are you won't be happy with the results. People need to know about this man

Ted told me everything I wanted to hear but once I hired him, his bill was his only focus. He continued to charge during months nothing was planned, sighting "review" and "preparation," which I understand to a point but not thousands of dollars worth. His court side abilities were nothing short of average. He had no clue in knowing me and my case personally. Divorce court is pretty much laid out so if your looking for a specialized attorney I would not recommend Ted Weeks III.
