Bonnie Riggens is owner of the Law Office of Bonita M. Riggens in St. Petersburg, Florida. She has been a member of the Florida Bar in 1984, and is also a member of the Middle District of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She is also a Florida Supreme Court and U.S. District Court, Middle District certified mediator and has mediated over 300 cases since 1991.  She became a Florida Department of Insurance Approved Mediator in October of 1991.


Ms. Riggens received her law degree from the University of Miami, cum laude (with honors).  She also has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, an M.A. from Ohio University and attended the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Ms. Riggens served as law clerk/staff attorney for the Honorable Herboth S. Ryder of the Florida Second District Court of Appeal for 3 and ½ years. She was one of the drafters of Respondent’s Brief in the U.S. Supreme Court case of School Board of Nassau County v. Arline and of the Appellant’s Jurisdictional Statement to the U.S. Supreme Court in The Florida Star v. B.J.F. Ms. Riggens has served as both a speaker, author, and expert witness on several aspects of employment law. She has been a national and Florida member of the National Employment Lawyer's Association since 1993.  The great majority of her practice is employment law.
