Purposely Lied to Us and Said She'd Filed a Motion and Didn't - Dragged out the Case
LaShawn was very nice in the beginning and also seemed accommodating. After the first filing had issues she should have noticed right off the bat (that part of my mother's will was missing something a secondary page that needed to be signed by the original witnesses) I was a little concerned. It also... was taking forever, so I had to notify the court on my own. After that hurdle, she advised that we handle things in a slight backwards way that I have spoken to other attorneys about and they advised this was not the way they would have approached it. She also advised us to do a Formal Administration vs a Summary, which we qualified for and would have gone way faster. At this point in time, more than a year and a half later, this case is still not completed correctly despite the fact that my brother and I were in complete agreement and this case should have been done a year ago. Numerous times, I have had to chase her down and nearly beg her to submit things or answer questions. After dealing with that, I had to reach out to the court again because she did not send me or submit an answer to the court and caused the case to be closed. Finally, she said she was reopening the case and had me complete paperwork, which I did the same day, and now it's been a month of no responses, etc. I finally emailed the court again and they responded, she never filed the motion to reopen and actually lied to me in an email, where she said she had and was waiting for the order. I made sure to forward her lie to the court. This is absolutely ridiculous and no one should ever hire her. I have every communication and attempt to communicate with her well documented.
