Neil Lewis is the best!

In 2001 we were looking for an attorney to help us get my husbands greencard. I called 6 attorneys listed in the phone book, left messages for all of them and only received a return call from Neil. He called within the hour! The whole process was so easy and we owe it all to Neil. He met with... us a number of times, explained the process, what he would do, gave us a list of the information that we would need to provide and took care of the paperwork. On the day that we met with INS, Neil met us before the appointment. We were impressed that he was personally greeted by the guards at the facility, and was on a first name basis with them. We watched so many people come into the building without their attorneys, or representing themselves. We were seen very quickly and were again impressed that Neil knew our interviewer. Thanks to him we were prepared for the interview and brought an entire box of documents to show our INS interviewer. We noticed that most of the people in the waiting room did not have anything with them - even the ones with attorneys. Just goes to show you that having a really good attorney makes things easier! We were so impressed with Neil that we have recommended him to everyone we know who is dealing with an immigration issue. His office staff were always friendly, he has a terrific personality and truly cares about his clients. Our entire experience was truly excellent. I would suggest that anyone who needs an immigration attorney should immediately call Neil.

I am in the process of trying to get my green card, I am just hoping for the best out come. I really trust Mr. Lewis, I will give my finally review after all this is over. to me it takes forever :-/. It is true that everytime you call you will speak to his assistants and not him. I personally do ...not have Mr. Lewis cel phone to contact him.

This wonderful lady has no green card available right now. And it drives her so crazy she calls me every week. She is not now my client, although she did hire me to fill out a form for her.

Poor Response and Communication

I was very disappointed with the lack of timely responses on an urgent matter by Attorney Neil Lewis. I hired him to represent me in an appeal of a K1 Visa denial. After initially being responsive during consultation, once I sent $2,500 via Zelle for his "flat fee" representation, he took between two... and three weeks to respond to.my numerous emails or phone calls requesting an explanation of the appeal denial. He could have taken 10 minutes by phone to explain, but whenever I called his office, I was told by his assistant he was in a consultation with a prospective client. He slapped a one-page generic cover letter to all the documents I had provided and sent this to USCIS on my behalf. It was rejected and he offered a poor explanation by email, three weeks after the fact, of the reason. If he and his team spent an hour on my case, I would be shocked. I read many of the other reviews before I hired him and was impressed with what others said was his knowledge and experience, but what good is this if you don't respond to your client and explain the outcome and next steps. Based on my experience, I would not retain Mr. Lewis.

Misleading

My husband and I went to see Mr. Lewis at the beginning of 2016. We were a young, newly married, childless couple looking for advice on a 601a waiver process. Lewis told us he does not advice doing 601a and instead suggested filling for an asylum. My husband has lived in the USA illegally for 11 year...s and asylum was legally not even possible. Lewis told us we would file and asylum and get a work card and social until the application stays in the process for 3-5 years. Lewis stated once the court date finally came we would just ask the judge for a waiver. Lewis basically told us to file a fraudulent asylum application and stay in the limbo for 3-5 years just so my husband can get a work permit. Instead we chose another lawyer and followed through with the 601a process. As of June 2017, my husband is a legal permanent resident with his green card in hand. My advice please do your research and don't just blindly believe any attorney who is promising an easy work permit.

When one is an illegal entrant to the US and is married to a US citizen, one may pursue status and residence through the provisional waiver process. This involves risking the non-US citizen outside the US (where they must go to the US Embassy in their country) with no guarantee they will return. Some of my clients qualify for and wish to pursue an application for political asylum in the US before they ever risk themselves outside the US. I have never and will never ask anyone to submit a fraudulent application. I am sorry that the reviewer was not smart enough to understand what options we were speaking about, and why the path she chose , which worked in her case, was risky and could have resulted in a 10 year separation of the couple.
