I was born and brought up in Zambia, Africa, and studied in South Africa, Florida and Michigan before settling back into private practice in Tampa.  My predominant practice areas include civil, business and real estate litigation, family law, and immigration law.  

I represent individuals, families, and corporate entities of all sizes.  While providing aggressive and zealous representation, I navigate the complex litigation process to provide my clients with a clear understanding of their options to litigate their cases through trial or negotiate favorable out-of-court pre-trial settlements, often through court-ordered and private mediations.  I employ a no-nonsense, practical and collaborative approach to minimize the lasting effects of divorce on my clients and their families.

My most gratifying work was my involvement in a legal aid program that encompassed a 17-county area extensively representing indigent victims of domestic violence, and assisting with immigration petitions for asylum seekers from war-torn countries in Africa.

    We hired Mr Nayee to represent my son in his Divorce case. He was referred to us by Attorney Sheba Abraham and glad she did. Plaintiff was located in Michigan. Mr Nayee was well versed in Michigan law as he was educated in Michigan. He was able to use his contacts resulting in dissolution of marriage with least cost to us. Mr Nayee was easily accessible and we appreciate his service. We are so pleased to refer him to anyone and will hire him in future if any reason arise.

    Professional, Experienced, and Conscientious

    After being married for 30 years and not knowing what to expect, Karan Nayee, Esq. met with me, allowed me to better understand his levels of experience, commitment and assuredness of professional and accurate services, while having 'my' best interests in mind. And he did just that! His commitment to finding a settlement that was fair, to my ex-husband and me was amazing. On two occasions he drove over 100 miles (one way) to meet with my husband, his attorneys and me to reach an out of court settlement which saved us trial expenses, fees and additional associated costs. While divorce is not easy and I was willing and ready to accept the first offer to come my way, Esq. Nayee pursued my mediation settlement with professionalism and conscientiousness, looking out for all our best interests. In an acceptable amount of time, his research, commitment and ability to find a mutually satisfying solution allowed my ex-husband and me to part on amicable terms. I was awarded with enough assets to cover my daily living expenses, the life style I had become accustomed to living over the past 30 years, with some additional funds for my retirement.     Professional. Reliable. Ethical. Gets Results

    I was skeptical entrususting my case to an attorney I’d never met in person and whose office was more than 100 miles away. My concerns quickly dissipated from the initial interaction. Karan was professional yet relatable. He clearly explained the process, set clear expectations, established rapport and immediately began reviewing documents I received (all before receiving the first payment). Karan kept me updated each step of the way. He was consistently prompt with following up. He made himself available and was willing to accommodate my schedule, often taking calls after business hours. The availability of electronic filing made the process convenient and overall seamless. While delays were experienced, they were not due to lack of diligence or follow-through on his part. The attorney client relationship felt more like friendship at times; he listened, clarified and reassured me whenever I became overwhelmed by the process.     Persistant, Knowledgable and Professional

    Mr. Nayee has been a pleasure to work with. I had filed for divorce and throughout the whole process i never felt that i could not reach out to Mr. Nayee. Whether, it was text, e-mail or telephone he always was there and made it a point to make sure I was comfortable and any and all questions I had were answered. Even during hurricane Irma, I did not have any trouble getting a hold of Mr. Nayee. He was always there to make sure he had not just my interest, but my families best interest at heart. There were nights when i would e-mail Mr Nayee at 12 AM hoping he would get the message by early morning and he would text me back saying "I'm up working, give me a call if you'd like to speak". I was heading down a path of divorce which was starting to get very ugly and Mr. Nayee always helped me remain calm and collected throughout the whole process while keeping the main objective in mind. During this grueling process by the court systems, My wife and I decided to reconcile and realized that a divorce is not truly what either of us wanted. At that time Mr. Nayee continued to maintain his professionalism as well as gave me the proper guidance on what steps i needed to take and how to go about them. Again, not just for the best interest of me, but for the best interest of my whole family. I never felt like I had legal council, Mr. Nayee made it feel much more personal. I felt more like i was talking or dealing with a friend. I would go straight to Mr. Nayee for any other fields of his expertise in a heart beat. My review really does not do him justice for the type of person he is and how he handles his clients/cases. I never felt like a client and always felt like i was his most important case. If I could rate him more than 5 stars I would. If you asked me who the best was, I would say Nayee Law.

    Mr. Nayee was outstanding as our immigration attorney. My husband moved to the U.S. from The Netherlands and we knew there would be quite and uphill battle to get his green card. Mr. Nayee had an answer for every question and was an excellent source of knowledge and experience in the immigration process. In less than a year my husband received his resident alien status and was granted a green card. I later learned that there are many people who wait for years and I wish I could recommend Mr. Nayee to each of them.

    Divorce & Parenting Plan

    Mr. Nayee represented me shortly after my previous wife filed for a dissolution of marriage. Mr. Nayee was very diligent in acquiring all details of my case, asking probing question along the way as needed. I felt very comfortable with Mr. Nayee's demeanor. Mr. Nayee was very professional on my first and only face-to-face consultation and remained in this manner throughout the case but showed compassion as well which I believe is a difficult accomplishment. Mr. Nayee was very knowledgeable and expressed the steps, costs and the recommended plan of action on my first consultation. I appreciated the flexibility of being able to electronically handle sharing information between Mr. Nayee and me. I have a very hectic work schedule work, which made it difficult to meet face-to-face. I never once felt that Mr. Nayee neglected my case instead he gave me the impression that my case was the most important case he was handling. Mr. Nayee always provided prompt responses to my queries with specific answers, in a manner that was understood by a non-legal individual. If I ever have any legal needs, Mr. Nayee will be my first choice. I recommend Mr. Nayee and his staff highly.

    He will not let you down

    Mr Karan has provided exceptional legal services to me. I have never written a review before, but Mr Karan has done an outstanding job as my attorney. I've been involved with quite a few top rated attorneys, but Mr Karan went above and beyond, what I have never experienced before, thus the reason I decided to write a review. I was in the middle of a divorce and i was in need of legal services. I came across Mr Karan's info through AVVO website. I wanted to file uncontested, but I just needed a good lawyer on standby in case my ex-spouse was planning on making the divorce difficult and complicated. The documents were filed on July 25th and I was officially divorced on August 26. From what I've read online, the average divorce takes about 2-3 months. Mr Karan had my divorce completed in just 1 month. Other outstanding experiences that I've had with Mr Karan is: 1. Straight communication. I've been involved with other lawyers before Mr Karan, and all of them had a paralegal. At times there were miscommunications and sometimes it felt like I had to beg in order to speak to the lawyer who I'm paying for the service. With Mr. Karan I had none of that. I was able to call, text and email him and he would personally get back to me. He would even work on my case during the weekend, where most lawyers only work monday thru friday. It honestly felt like he put in 110% into my case even though he had multiple cases going on 2. Comfort. From the very beginning Mr Karan told me to not worry and stress too much. He's handling the case and he always said "your problem is now my problem". That made me feel a bit comfortable. My ex spouse didn't fully cooperate with the process and I was worrying and stressing about it. While I was mentally preparing myself for a contested divorce, he was able to get my ex spouse to cooperate. The important thing is that Mr Karan always communicated with me. That's one thing that most lawyers don't do. I have a few more other legal cases that need to be resolved. At this point Mr Karan is definitely my first choice.

    Peace of mind

    My case was complicated and was giving much grief. Karan was very quick to assess my case and provided me clear guidance with available options. He listened and helped me navigate and choose the best course of action. He remained in contact with me through out the process and displayed diligence until case closure. In the end the decision was favorable due to his understanding, handling and comprehensive preparation. I will recommend Karan to my friends or any one seeking legal assistance. Thanks

    I recently needed a lawyer for a divorce. I overlooked a deadline for responding. I had less than 24 hours to file a response. I reached Karan by phone and 2 hours later I was meeting with him. I was very worried about this case. he put me at ease. He came up with a plan and told me it would be ok. He filed all the forms that were required and represented me at the hearing. In less than ten minutes the divorce was final. I could not have been more satisfied! He was very professional but treated me like a good friend. If you find yourself in need of an attorney, I highly recommend Nayee Law.
