I was left out and completely in the dark about a rather difficult situation my son was going through. Once I had her on my side everything started getting better. I was referred to Denise by a family member. I was confident that she was going to work in my best interest based on our initial conversation and her retainer was favorable compared to other attorneys. She did not send me a retainer agreement but I got an invoice for the retainer which I promptly pai...d. I did not hear from her again and we communicated through text. I was getting anxious after 5 days because I realized nothing was filed with the courts and I needed to answer the petition. Made a few calls and I eventually got a response that she would file. She eventually answered the petition but did not pay any money to courts hence nothing showed in the court records. I was disappointed of her initial handling of my case and decided she will not work in my face and her interest was for self. I decided not to move forward with her. ( remember I did not sign a retainer nor received one) she proceeded to tell me my retainer was non refundable but she will do me a favor and pay herself. She charged for a phone call which I made to her and email which she sent in response to me sending an email that I will no longer need her service. Basically one third of my retainer was used and she did not go to court, nor did pertinent work. Glad I made the decision not to move forward and follow my instincts. Please make an informed decision if you decide to hire

She was my lawyer for three and a half years. She was OK at first but then I noticed that very important motions were not being filed in a timely manner or being filed in general which hurt my case. I also wish she would have let me know about important information that I could have used instead of... having to do with the research myself. I also noticed that she is an appeals lawyer but then withdrew from my case before I had to go to the appeals court which only gave me two weeks to find a lawyer in the lawyer to review my case so I would be able to win that case. Unfortunately I lost even the appeals. She never ever mentioned to me that she does appeals as well, because I had to find out how to do my briefing file my motions on my own. I do know now what I didn't know before. I will take it as a learning experience. I must say a life-changing experience! I wish you the very best and I'm sure she will always remember me for the rest of your life as I will always remember her.
