For more than 12 years, Mr. Rochen has been engaged in an extensive state and federal civil litigation practice in southern Florida, specializing in bad faith, extra-contractual exposure, complex commercial litigation, general liability, transportation liability, government liability, corporate liability and professional liability. He has represented both private and insurance clients, and has served as panel counsel for several insurance companies. Mr. Rochen has litigated hundreds of claims during the course of his career, actively defending matters from pre-suit through trial.
Mr. Rochen grew up in southeast Michigan. After graduating from the University of Michigan, with honors, Mr. Rochen attended the University of Miami, where he earned his Juris Doctor, with honors.
Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Rochen accepted a job as an associate attorney at Libow & Shaheen, a botique litigation firm located in Boca Raton. Thereafter, Mr. Rochen accepted a position with the L|D firm (a statewide firm), where he remained for more than 10 years, working his way up from associate attorney to one of the firm's few shareholders. In addition to co-chairing the firm's Civil Litigation Division, Mr. Rochen focused his personal practice on defending high-exposure matters involving catastrophic loss, and routinely defended claims arising out of all aspects of tort liability, premises liability, wrongful death, motor vehicle accidents, jet ski & watercraft accidents, Dram Shop incidents and property damage disputes.
In mid-2016, Mr. Rochen decided to leave his litigation practice in order to pursue his interests in alternative dispute resolution. At the present time, Mr. Rochen is a quadruple certified Florida Supreme Court mediator, specializing in circuit, county, family and appellate court mediations.
In addition to working as a mediator, Mr. Rochen remains actively involved in the Florida legal community and spends much of his time offering lectures to respective corporate and insurance clients regarding the myriad of issues that arise out of Florida litigation.
