Regret it

I hired Mr. Roberts because of the reviews and at the end of the day, most of the high cost retainer was gone mostly because many emails where lost, had to send information even 4 times for his assistant to act accordingly. The repetitive emails also where frustrating because it seemed that he did no...t get the right information on time. A day before my hearing, I went to the office to get ready and brought more evidence, only to wait in the lobby for 45 minutes after I saw him leave for lunch. Later his assistant had no idea about the status of the case, A Day Before! Tells me that she has not seen anything but only a box containing tons of paperwork. When I asked to see it, it comes exactly as I had turned it in. Perfectly organized and labeled but it had been untouched let alone revised. When in court the next day he seemed very confident and had a good start but the moment where he could have used the powerful evidence to expose the Respondent's lies, Mr. Roberts had nothing. I had asked him to make sure to bring a couple of very important issues and he said there was no need to put it in paper that they will be addressed at court. Never did so needles to say we lost this Contempt over two simple things that were based on lies from the other side! I was forced to go to court again to defend the same case and I still have anxiety episodes thinking that this man took my last $8,000 and did not put his effort or heart on it. Lost my hope in humanity again!

Disappointing

Hiring David Roberts was a mistake. His firm rarely communicated with me except to ask for more money. In court he allowed the opposing attorney to run circles around him. He rarely objected, and never challenged the falsehoods presented by the other party. I had a temporary injunction against me... and Dave negotiated with the opposing attorney to make the injunction permanent in exchange for getting me supervised visitation, which never happened. He then failed to file for contempt for the opposition's non-compliance. I spent most of the time with him waiting for him to do something, or forking over more money for no results. Eventually I was forced to go with a different attorney.

Horrible Representation

I hired Mr. Roberts for time sharing and child support modification. I was looking for someone who was aggressive and would fight for me. I was gravely disappointed. In all, the process took over 2 years and upwards of 50K in attorney's fees. In fact , I repeatedly asked about the on going fees and... the unnecessary exorbitant expenses associated with my case.. I was told to obtain a sizable loan or find another lawyer. Ultimately, I ended up pro se’. I couldn’t afford the on going cost and lack of representation. Mr Roberts was more concerned about the toothpaste on his lapel than knowing the facts about my case. All of which is surprising considering he charged me over 112 times to “ review my file”. In a family matter case, you are looking for someone to understand your position and fight for you. Neither happened. In fact, Mr Roberts lack of detail resulted in me having to pay the opposing attorney attorneys fees when all Mr Roberts had to do was file a protective order on my behalf. Despite Mr. Robert's years of experience, he seemed to have limited knowledge on some issues and lacked any perceived desire to aggressively represent me.
