I've never gone through a Family or Child Custody case in my life, but after surviving 6 gunshot wounds up close by an ex-boyfriend for not wanting to be in a relationship anymore; I found myself not only fighting for my life, but for the life of my 6 year old son who was removed from my care due to... the nature of the incident. At first I was appointed a public defender, and for 6+ months I was in and out of court watching this public defender lose every custody case right before my eyes, and then I was up next. The day I hired Mary Zogg was the day I fired the public defender for telling me due to past behaviors on my part I may not ever get custody of my son again. I cried as if my child had died that day because the pain felt like "losing someone" Mary Zogg comforted me on this day as I walked into her office after being referred by another lawyer advising she's one of the best lawyers for cases dealing with children. My first thought of Mrs. Zogg after meeting her was very warm, funny and friendly. She made me smile after the chain of events that I've gone through. She listened to me as she wrote on her pad and allowed me to get the hurt out without stopping me from over talking. I didn't know her from Adam, but for some reason I felt a sense of light and calmness being in her presence. I remember that Monday I was up for reunification with my son and all of my parenting rights was revoked by the judge, and I was told that I may never get my son again, but Mary looked me in my eyes and said "We will see about that". I remember my first court date with Mrs. Zogg. I was nervous of what was going to be said by the judge because he seemed to be on the same side as DCF and everyone else that appeared against me, and I didn't understand because I was the victim. The court room was like a circus before Mary Zogg, but when I walked in with her everyone seemed very fearful, and the courtroom had some how gone from a circus to something you see on T.V. (i.e. professional). All of the bogus stories all of a sudden got corrected and even the judge seemed got his stuff together, and caught amnesia as to why certain things were happening. I was like WOW! I should've been hired Mrs. Zogg. It is December 2017 and I'm almost finished with my case, but the way Mrs. Zogg fight I see why she is rated one of the best lawyers that one could ever hire. Mrs. Zogg doesn't play when it comes down to her clients and she SMILES while delivering a DEATH BLOW! Mrs. Zogg will literally walk the LIONS for you. I am definitely taking notes from her because she never gets mad or angry while fighting your case, she actually smiles and that's when the other side realizes they're in trouble. "She puts me in the mind of Columbo and MatLock" and it's interesting seeing her interact with everyone. Sometimes it doesn't take a tough attitude or foul language to make your opponents back up, Mrs. Zogg knows that FACTS and a SMILE will get the job done! I will give another update of the outcome once my case is finished, but as of now I have regain life's opportunities back and I'm confident of how she's handling things.

Ms Hoftiezer assisted me in a child support recalculation. She kept a cool head and provided excellent feedback during the process. She helped to educate me on how the process works and what my rights were as they related to child support for the children. I now rely on Mary to provide insights wh...en needed and I know that if I need her services again, she will go to bat for our family.

Mary's law firm is aptly named Family Law Advocate- and that she is an Advocate for you! She is knowledgeable, resourceful and will take on your "fight" with full passion, as if it were her own. There are times when I did not like her responses to me, but she was always right. I had to change my m...ind set. I have been one of her tougher cases and I can't think of anyone who would have fought harder for my daughter and myself. My only wish is I had retained her 10 years ago, so that she did not have to clean up the poop former attorneys left behind.
