Asks for $100 fee regardless if she takes case

I called this attorney regarding a tenant/landlord issue. I asked for the cost of retainer. The lady on the phone said she would not discuss fees until after I pay $100 non refundable fee and come in for a consultation. She then stated this does not mean the attorney will take my case but it's the re...quirement to pay the fee, explain my case and then she will decide if they will take it. Huge rip off scheme! I would never. I called the next attorney on the list and found representation immediately and was able to quickly retain that attorney given a normal retainer fee like most lawyers.

For $100, we provide sound legal advice for your landlord/tenant matter for a one hour consultation. Generally, a tenant does not need us after the consultation as our legal advice is normally enough to provide the right guidance. What we want to do is set our clients up for success and empower them with the knowledge needed to take the next right step.
