Extremely dissatisfied with the representation I received... Not only did I have to contact the office on a REGULAR basis just to receive updates I ended up having to take a plea deal for an exigent circumstance case where the police entered my home without a warrant or probable cause! I was told thr...oughout the process that my case was easy to defend and that case law was on my side. Once the plea offers started and I would refuse attorney Michael barber would tell me OK well I’m going to do this and that and next time around when I would look for an update it was the same thing all over again. I ended up basically being pressured into taking a plea offer that I could have secured with a public defender for $500, In essence I feel like I paid for waivers of appearance for the pre-trial hearings. I had also relocated out of the Orlando area and lived 6 hours away, one day after a pre-trail hearing I received a call from Michael Barber (First time ever) and was told about the latest plea offer and that I should probably take it or there would be a pretty good chance I would go to jail for 15 years and If I wanted to accept the offer I would have to be in Orlando the next morning! That’s less than 24 hours’ notice! I was told "Sorry” over and over.. I have lost my well-paying job due to this situation because of a problem neighbor which was no fault of my own! I too am sorry that I ever decided to retain this law firm! everything about how my case was handled is UNACCEPTABLE! They contacted me EVERY TIME payment was due like clockwork.. Wish they were on top of my case as much as they were on top of the payments! This was my personal experience with this firm.

Michael first of is humble, respectful and delivered a true customer service approach. Our family had a school board involved hearing involving a bad decision our child made. Michael took our case on short notice, mind you recommended by the firm I initially hired. He was presented to us as THE BEST ...around in this area of defence. Truth be told we feel that he is. In addition to that his local ties and network makes him invaluable as an attorney. In our case I believe his preparation with us though it was short, it was on point. That alone was worth the retainer fee. We followed his direction and everything he said was going to happen, did. It was as it was scripted... Why does this matter? I contacted the the Umanksy law firm through email one morning before their hours of operation about my case. I was called back immediately and was asked to come in to personally to discuss the case. Long story short some fool decided to break into my apartment and leave all the goodies for the c...ops to find . I wasn't there at the time of the break in so i just had a warrant for my arrest at the time, didnt know what my charges were either. But after meeting with Michael he told me my charges and what it would cost him to handle the case. I honestly think the price was very reasonable and worth it, especially since the case is dropped. One of the main reasons I hired Michael is because of the great reviews , and the amount he has . So if you're reading this , hire him and you won't be disappointed!
