Very deceptive character
I wish I would have never met this person. He is very slick when talking to you and was able to convince me to take the first plea I was presented. Because he sugar coated it, I ended up in the worst situation of my life. I would have been better off using a public defender. This man is very manipula...
I have represented thousands of clients as a criminal defense attorney. I apologize that you were not satisfied, but it is my duty to inform each and all of my clients of the risk and defenses available to your case. While my ultimate goal is to get your charges dismissed, it becomes more difficult when you have several prior cases with the same offense. All your priors accumulate points which are reflected in your score sheet. At some point, the options become limited and you must either accept a plea or we can take the case to trial. I give all of my clients the option of going to trial, but you must understand that you could be looking at jail or prison time if convicted. That's not sugar coating it, that is being realistic. At the time of a plea, the Judge ask all defendants if they are satisfied with their attorney and if they are entering the plea voluntarily and willfully. You stated you were satisfied. The Judge also ask if anyone has pressured you to accept the plea. You stated you were satisfied and knowingly and voluntarily accepted the negotiated plea because you did not want to expose yourself to incarceration. You cannot come after the fact and state you were not satisfied with the resolution after stating under oath that you were. We all make decisions everyday and we must live with the consequences of our decisions and our past criminal record.
