I have been representing the interests of persons accused of criminal conduct in Gainesville and surrounding counties for over 30 years. I am a member of DeThomasis and Buchanan P.A.; my firm consists of three attorneys exclusively handling criminal defense related cases; all attorneys have practiced in excess of 25 years.
I value the privacy interests of of my clients and the importance of their reputations. I counsel and assist all clients to reduce the publicly available information regarding their legal matters, either through the pursuit of expunging or sealing an eligible record or in avoiding publicity.
Before joining DeThomasis & Buchanan, P.A. in 2001, I was an assistant Public Defender handling everything from misdemeanor traffic to first degree murder trials in the 8th Judicial Circuit for over sixteen years. I was a member of the defense team for Danny Harold Rolling from 1992 through his trial in February of 1994.
I continue to participate in educational enhancement through DUI and other criminal law seminars. I also participate in the mentoring of fellow bar members through the American Inn of Court.
I am vigilante in protecting my clients' legal rights and in protecting them from those who would prey on them at their most vunerable... see http://www.wcjb.com/local-news/2014/10/lawyers-judges-warn-about-scam-targeting-defendants.
