State v. L.R. (Criminal and Deportation issue)

Practice Area: Criminal defense

Outcome: Client's deportation case dismissed

Description: Client was in deportation proceedings because he had pled guilty to a aggravated felony charge that made him both deportable and ineligible for forms of relief. Prior to retaining our firm, Client had retained another lawyer to attack the prior conviction with no success. When we were retained, we were able to go back and attack the prior conviction and negotiate a plea to a different charge that was not an aggravated felony and not a deportable offense. The deportation case against our client was dropped.
