  • state of florida v. client D.C.

    Practice Area:
    Criminal defense
    Outcome:
16 felony counts reduced to 1 second degree mm
    Description:
Client was arrested on a series of auto burglaries. Bonded out and was rearrested with additional charges. Information was filed on 16 felonies and the case went on for months. State's original offer was to plead "straight-up" ie outcome uncertain to the judge. We would've had to plea to at least 5 counts per the prosecutor. We conducted discovery and exposed some glaring weaknesses in the state's case against our client. We received probation on a 2nd degree misdemeanor along with a withhold of adjudication.
