Attorney Mandi McDonough was an absolute answer to prayer. Despite working from home during the pandemic and like most of us who had to juggle our jobs and our children who were home from school; she was juggling her elementary aged son and her newborn daughter who was born during the pandemic all wh...ile tirelessly working hard on my case fir my family. I found her to be compassionate, timely, encouraging, strategic and very knowledgeable. The first court date she outlined my case perfectly and held my now ex husband accountable for everything he had done. I was awarded custody, child support, generous alimony and attorneys fees from the Judge. Later I found out from my ex that his lawyer charged him $2,000 extra retainer up front because of the fight he knew he had being up against my lawyer. I can see why, she is very strategic, honest and knows the law. I needed a lot of hand holding and needed a lot of explanations throughout the process and she was always generous with her time. I read a lot of reviews before I hired her and there were a few negative that concerned me but way more positive. The negative ones I read were NOT my experience at all. My experience was excellent and professional from beginning to end. After working with Mandi for over a year on my case and getting consistent communication and professionalism, I think those few negative reviews were from angry people on the other side like my ex who she destroyed in court and not from real clients of Attorney McDonough. I would recommend her 100 times! She helped me through the worst period in my life with kindness, empathy and brilliant legal strategy.

Mandi presented herself as a caring, concerned person who didn't want more clients but felt compelled to help!! She said she would "discount" her fees because she was so committed to this case! (We later found her fees to be the same as others charge) We paid the retainer and didn't hear from her ag...ain for weeks! Her assistant assured us she was working on it....."She is in court right now, she has your file at home and it is her HIGHEST priority..etc...etc......" For 6 weeks we called, left messages, texts. ANYTHING to get her to respond!! Finally she returned an urgent request and berated us for interrupting her vacation! When we questioned her lack of communication she threatened to withdraw from the case. When she was easily outmaneuvered by the opposing attorney she responded with a late night call laced with vulgar rantings but no real explanation for how it happened or what her plan would be going forward. When it became apparent she had no real intentions of working this case, we tried once more to appeal to her through an email detailing our concerns and basically begging her to help. Within 5 minutes she called (After months of little or no response) and began screaming that we were NOT her priority! She had a lot of other cases and she was sick of hearing from us. She immediately withdrew from the case and has yet to return our files or an explanation of charges to our retainer as requested. For nearly 4 months of her having this case she filed the initial paperwork and returned 3 phone calls which lasted approximately 10 minutes each. We almost lost custody!! And would have had it not been for an awesome attorney who took this case and managed to accomplish in 3 weeks what Mandi couldn't or wouldn't in months!! There are some honest, hardworking attorneys out there! Mandi McDonough is not one of them!! You're almost better having no attorney than one who doesn't file timely, doesn't respond to opposing attorney and misses court procedures. We have now heard from many others who have also been very disappointed and will be following through on further action with the Georgia Bar Association.
