Slow, non-communicative, procrastinator

She took an extraordinarily long time to get basic information to me that other law firms quickly were able to get and tell me. Her assistant Brenda is nice and did try. Betsey waited until the last minute to fully look over documents and change her mind about the price of what it would cost, which i...s fine but tell people up front. She wasted 3+ weeks of my life when I could’ve had another law firm by then. Thankfully I’ve found another firm that’s a better fit. Don’t be blindsided by her words. She needs to improve client communication significantly. I spoke with her only once the first time I called and once over email which is what made me change my mind. I explained the situation and how I felt it was urgent. She did not seem to listen until the end and kept putting off sending me a fee agreement and any communication with me - it came all through her assistant which is fine to some extent but it’s important that the actual attorney get back to you since they’re the one dealing with the actual case in more detailed ways. I had been extremely patient and understanding with their law firm understanding that the legal system takes time, however it gets to a point and I’ve gotten fed up. She also disregarded the way I wanted things handled and didn’t seem to take that into consideration after I had reiterated to her assistant multiple times. Thankfully I found a firm elsewhere that seems to be a better fit and has already handled things the minute I spoke with them - unlike this firm who procrastinates and waits until the last minute all while wasting your time.

Working with an EEOC right to sue

Slam dunk case with the Atlanta EEOC visiting the city of Savannah on two separate occasions and giving me the right to sue for age discrimination for the professional position of city surveyor. The attorneys for the city scared her off and she ran away after the initial meeting. If you need a fight...er you’ll be better served representing yourself. She’s a loser!

Practicing law is a humbling experience. We learn early on that no case is a slam dunk. Regardless, I will always remove myself from a case when a client uses coercion and threats to get me to abandon my sound legal advice. Always. Calling me a loser does not make me regret my decision.
