Excellent job!!!

Mr. Abt and his staff took the time to research my daughter's case and was able to have her charges dismissed. He kept her from having to serve any jail time. I highly recommend this firm. I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for."

The best!

Jay had my best interest in mind from the moment I met with him through the months that we worked together. He WILL work for you and will use his extensive knowledge of the legal system to get you the best outcome. Listen to him, trust his advice, and do what he says. I would recommend Jay to anyone ...who finds themselves in a difficult situation. He is the best lawyer in Atlanta!

Excellent

I cannot tell you how much I respect and love Jay, Katie, Allison and Mr Ware. This is long over due but definitely due. My fiance was facing several charges including probation violations in Walton county stemming from charges in Gwinnett county. The hardest part was getting through Walton County... and no attorney will touch that county - They did. My fiancee was sitting in there while I combed through attorneys left and right - he has a public defender who couldnt do anything. He sat in there for months like an animal before I retained Jay and Katie. They didnt even have a court date for him. They kept sending over a "Public Defender" and the Probation officer to take a plea. He wouldn't take it. Once I retained them they was able to get him on the calendar immediately. On that day- Katie came and represented him the day of the first court appearance. I already knew what to expect. They under promised and under delivered. Now let me tell you- when I saw her - I was like um I dont know about this - she looks to sweet-does not look like the type that would rip results with her sweet charm but whoa buddy- she did he was facing finishing his probation in Prison for Walton county- Prosecution was firm on 5 yrs!!! By the time she was done - she got him time served credit and 2 for 1 to (3 mos jail time in county jail to serve half of that...) but here's the thing - while that was great- she told me he could prob get out sooner if he volunteers - I am also a believer in Christ and I pray- so I thanked God there in the hall way... she stood back and smiled and told me not to worry - it will be ok. And it was - my Fiance was released the same day!! This is not the norm but this is how that jail worked... if he had to do prison time - he would never had been released. The fact that she was able to fight and negotiate not like a tyrant but because of her ability to see through bull crap and negotiating skills- she got results. Regarding the Gwinnett county charge he was facing a year in prison - however- Jay got it reduced to 6 mos with some credit for time served and fines. He was sentenced and only served 3 mos. Jay and his team do not sugar coat ANYTHING!!!! I have NEVER had an issue with them not calling me back at all. In fact their Assistant Allison is very knowledgeable herself and is able to handle most concerns and issues. If I had to LVM she returns the call very timely and or responds to email as well. The only time I didnt hear from her on time was that she was out of the office and called me promptly. Even if its after normal business hours! That's the truth. They are completely personable and again they don't sugar coat anything. if you are easily offended - get thicker skin. Seriously. I also will add that I was on a payment contract with them and as long as you keep in touch with them they will not hound you- just do what you say you will do. That's it. I recognize how sincere and real they are and how they work collectively and the relationships they have with the courts is very important. That's why I continually refer them. They are not cheap - but they will work with you. I will also say- who wants a cheap lawyer when in comes to your freedom. Its about the quality not the quantity of dollars. I talked to so many attorneys before retaining them and they made different promises quoted some average prices and they just sounded sketchy. Jay told me my fees upfront when he called me from his cell on a sunday evening- He told me what he was looking at- told me what would be the headache and what he believed he could do. He was confident in what he told me. And he delivered what he said. You cannot expect fast results that is a fact- for any attorney. I'd rather someone take the time rather than speed through with horrible results. I dont EVER want to use them again because the goal is to stay out of trouble!!! But God forbid - they would be first.

Complex case

My son has 2 charges, aggravated assault and criminal attempt robbery. I fired one attorney because the plea he got was 20 years do 12. J Abt started out with a plea of 20 do 7. Complications arose with my son missing court dates. This has been going on for about 1 year. I did not like the answers an...d things J Abt was telling me. HE IS DIRECT, STRAIGHT FORWARD AND TO THE POINT! He also does not sugar coat the facts. This caused conflict between us. He also has a phenomenal team of para legals, one that stands out is Mr. Ware. He rode it out with me til the end. Thank you Mr. Ware. On September 10th, 2015 my son had his pre trial in Dekalb county. Mr Abt has a good repore with the prosecuting attorney, I witnessed this. My son took the plea after J Abt negotiated with the prosecuting attorney, 15 years do 5 years! If you ever need a criminal attorney J Abt is your man. He cares about his client's and he is a busy man. He do not have time to baby you. These are criminal offenses that he is dealing with and people's futures are at stake. I LOVE YOU J Abt and thank you for a job well done! Thank you for bringing my son home to his wife, children, family and friends early! May God continue to bless you. You have a heart of gold! There should be more lawyers like Jay Abt

At some point in our lives there will come a time when it is necessary to hire a lawyer. Choosing the right one can be a scary task. There is always a risk involved when placing your case in the hands of another. Im writing this review to share my thoughts on jay abt of the atlanta based abt law firm.... . 8 months ago I was the defendent of a tragic and heart breaking k9 bite case with my two pit bulls. I had known Mr. Abt for 5 +years and used his services many times previously but was not sure what to do because there are not exactly many lawyers who specialize in defending a pit in a bite case. He took it on for me anyways. Even tho I had securely locked the front door the previous night before bed somehow , no one's really sure that door was wide open in the morning. Allegedly (Although no one witnessed it other then the victim) my male & female pitbul ran out my front door at my townhouse community and attacked my neighbors dog. He then claimed that the dogs attacked him even though we all know that he was just bit breaking up that fight. Animal control took my dogs and detained them for 30 days. They lived in at 2'x 3' cage with a guillotine door with no human contact, they where not able to move for 30 days straight and visitation was Prohibited and I waited and prayed that I would be able to get them back and they would not be euthanized. It was the worst thing I've ever been through. My neighbor just had a few scratches and puncture wounds and their dog had some stitches and ended up being just fine. I have of course reimbursed them for their medical bills. My neighbor, who often let his dog run around without a leash, thought he had the right to say whether my dogs lived or died he pushed for 60 days to get them euthanized on the (first bite ) that occurred for these dogs on record. He sued me criminally and civilly and tried to kill my dogs Arguing that I was not capable of handling dogs of that nature. I was thrown out of my home that i had owned out right for 6 years by the neighborhood homeowners Association. When I finally got my dogs back they were classified as dangerous dogs and banned from the county that I lived in, forcing me to move. . animal control in Cherokee County are the worst. these people are the devil and they don't give a f:$@ about any of the animals there. So, side-note; if you find a stray and you take there. My lawyer stood by my side every minute of this case; he even put aside murder trials to handle the hearings for these two dogs because he knew how much i loved them. Luckily my dogs were saved and even though the criminal charge fines Given by Cherokee County where ridiculous; there can never be a dollar amount too great to put on something that you love dearly. Because my lawyer did his job so well; i guess the civil case was withdrawn. . I cannot describe how valuable jay apt was during this process and my words cannot describe the gratefulness that I have towards this lawyer. I Sat down with Jay one day and asked him why he did what he did for a profession. Defense lawyers endure criticism by many. The reply from him is why I know I can recommend this man. A typical lawyer would not care about you the way jay cares. You see; Many times lawyers have the reputation of doing their business for all the wrong reasons. I can assure you if you sit down face-to-face with this man and you need his help, I promise you he is in it to protect you and to keep you safe . The reason why he does what he does is because at the end of the day he can go to bed knowing that he helped somebody, that he saved the life of another and has kept them away from Injustice and harm. That he has done his very best to stand up for you weather you are right or wrong he is on your side. So, if you are in trouble, . And I must leave you with a serious question to think about... What is you or a loved ones freedom worth?
