You are in over your head. At age 17 you are considered an adult for criminal prosecution. If you go to court without a lawyer and "pay a fine" that means you are pleading guilty and you risk having a criminal conviction on your record for a minimum of 5 years and potentially the rest of your life. If you want to protect your future you need to ask your parents to hire you a lawyer. Panicking isn't going to help.See question

There is a four-year statute of limitations. Yes, charges can be reduced/dismissed but if you don't have a lawyer advocating on your behalf, then the chance of a reduction/dismissal is unlikely.See question

Unless you have a lawyer advocating for you now (when the prosecutors are deciding how and what to charge you with) you have no defense. Now is a critical time in your case and therefore you need someone to fight for you and tell your story. If you don't have a lawyer then hire one. If you have a lawyer make sure he/she is making the prosecutor aware of these mitigating facts.See question
