Manny Arora and his associates represented me in one of the most visible and challenging criminal law cases in the nation in 2023: the indictment filed by the District Attorney of Fulton County against Donald Trump and eighteen co-defendants, alleging a vast racketeering conspiracy pertaining t...o the 2020 presidential election, in which I had worked as an attorney for the Trump Campaign, principally on litigation in Wisconsin.
I was named in seven counts, involving felonies that threatened me with many years in prison if convicted. The District Attorney alleged that I was an "architect" of a plot to use so-called "fake electors" to enable President Trump to illegally remain in power.
To clear my name of these false charges as soon as possible, I demanded a speedy trial, a decision that Manny fully backed even though the timetable allowed less than two months to prepare for a trial that might last for five months -- thus requiring him to pack into a period of weeks work that would ordinarily be handled over the period of a year or more.
Working on my behalf, Manny and his associates (in particular Robert Wilson) demonstrated to the District Attorney that the charges were both factually unsupported (there was no evidence that any of the legal advice I gave the Trump Campaign was improper, as a Harvard Law School professor enlisted by Manny confirmed in an expert report that he supplied to the prosecutors) and, through motions practice, that the charges were also legally invalid, and hence would inevitably be thrown out on appeal even if a jury were somehow to convict me.
Thanks to their tireless efforts, to avoid having to go to trial against Manny, and based on Manny's ability to negotiate an outcome for the case that was agreeable to all involved, the District Attorney ended up dropping all charges against me, under a plea deal in which I pleaded to just one count (as to which I did not have to admit to having personally done anything wrong), and did not stand convicted of anything (not even a misdemeanor) -- so that once I complete three years of probation, all records of the charges will be expunged, and I will again have a spotless record (of never having even been charged with a crime).
This result was vastly better, for both me and my family, than having go through the ordeal of a five-month trial in order to clear my name. Manny Arora and his associates went all-out to extricate me from my predicament as quickly as possible. I recommend them without reservation to anyone who, like me, ends up facing criminal charges in a complicated case and is in need of attorneys who have the rare combination of intellectual sophistication, street smarts, and genuine human caring that Manny and the other attorneys on his team exhibited in successfully representing me in this high-profile, high-stakes case.
