During my recent divorce, I was completely caught off guard and was confused as to why I was going through a separation... my trust in others had been broken. I contacted Meriwether & Tharpe, LLC to get more information after being server papers. Elizabeth Doak took extended time to listen to my case, my concerns and my side of the story. From the very beginning, I was more than comfortable placing my 'trust' in her and her team. At our initial meeting, Elizabeth was professional, yet compassionate too. She involved several team members in our meeting, which was an indication that she was committed to providing me with the best counsel possible (and up front with fees for each). After explaining my story, Elizabeth told me that what my instincts and feelings about the way things led up to the separation were normal and spot on. Throughout the process, Elizabeth made certain that she or a team member kept me informed and up-to-date with what was happening, and what the next steps would be. She has started the process off right for me to restore my trust in other!
I would highly recommend Elizabeth to anyone that is going through a divorce. She will provide you with great knowledge and support!

I hired Elizabeth to help me work through a custody modification. She did an amazing job of keeping me informed; she responded to emails within 24 hours, she returned phone calls, and she took the time to explain things in a manner that I'd understand. She is professional, strait-forward; yet, she was also understanding and compassionate. I will use her again and I will recommend her to anyone looking for an attorney. We were able to settle my case through mediation and I received exactly what I wanted and more. She did great at walking me through the entire process and keeping me calm during a sensitive time.

Elizabeth handled my most recent child custody modification. She is an excellent communicator, knew when to exert pressure and knew when to concede and always kept my best intersts in mind throughout the ordeal. She is very organized and logical which allowed her to refute my ex-spouses false accusations with documented facts. Her matter-of-fact attitude toward opposing counsel contributed greatly to my success in the case, and instead of a heading to a nasty trial situation we were able to settle in mediation. Her actions resulted in a settlement that was better than I had hoped. I can't say enough about how professional Elizabeth was during my situation.
