I hired Matt to help me with the three charges I had in Fulton County court: Knowingly Driving on Suspended Registration, Failure to Maintain Insurance, and Driving on Expired License. Matt was able to work with the prosecutor and have the first two charges dropped, meaning I did not get any points on my license, have any restrictions placed on my license, or have to pay a big fine. I walked away paying only $140 in fines/court costs, which is much less than the tickets themselves would have been, and the potential fines could have been in the thousands of dollars. Thanks again Matt!

Mr.Kilgo is a friend of my family and when I got into some trouble with possession, Kilgo was immediately responsive and ready for action. Kilgo stayed on top of my case for 8 months. Calling me weekly with updates. I am 19, so having a felony was a very scary situation. Kilgo was always on top of his work and knew exactly what to do. Kilgo got my felony drug possession dismissed after 8 months. Your results may vary, but one thing is for sure. Kilgo is an amazing attorney and i would definitely rehire him if I ever needed help again.

Matt handled a DUI case for a long time client of mine. While I've been a practicing attorney for over twenty years, I recognize that my client needed an expert in DUI law. Matt was able to get the breath test thrown out before trial. Matt also won the remainder of the DUI case at trial. Hiring Matt was the best decision we ever made and my client is very happy with the results.

Matt did an outstanding job! He is exceptionally knowledgeable in the law. He always kept us well informed and was readily available to answer all of our questions. I would definitely call Matt again if the need arises.

I think he is too tied into the DeKalb Traffic Court system with his senior sitting on the bench. You pay him upfront a set fee. His incentive is to wrap it as quickly as possible. He did not pay enough attention to the evidence in my case. -Sell very well but did not deliver the best outcome.Said he would get right on it but he took his time.

I hired Mr. Kilgo after being pulled over for a DUI in Atlanta last year. When searching for a lawyer, I wanted someone who had experience with DUI cases, good interpersonal skills, and someone that I could trust with this very important issue. He proved to me during the free consultation that he met all those criteria and more. Mr. Kilgo is someone that I was able to reach with any questions at any time, including weekends. He always kept me informed of any changes to the case, which really made the whole process as stress-free as it could be. He worked very diligently to work out a plea for my case. Unfortunately, my previous record made a good plea deal nearly impossible. I thought Mr. Kilgo addressed the issue of going to court in the most fair way possible. The thought of going to court was a tough pill to swallow. He did a great job of using as many facts as possible for presenting the entire situation. Looking back, I don't think he could have painted a more accurate picture of how my case would stand up in court. When the court date arrived, Mr. Kilgo was VERY well prepared. He obviously did his homework to give me the best shot at winning the case. Throughout the trial day he kept me informed of everything going on in the case. This made the court day much less stressful than I was anticipating. Without going into the details, Mr. Kilgo identified statements by the witnesses that actually worked in my favor. Long story short, he was able to get me a plea deal for reckless driving, which was a HUGE win for me. Mr. Kilgo's attention to detail made this possible. If you are looking for a reasonably-priced lawyer that has experience, a winning record, great supporting staff, and the interpersonal skills necessary to win your case Mr. Kilgo is your man!

After an unplanned evening in Dekalb County jail for a potential DUI, I was completely panicked. I didn't know what to do next. I actually found Matt's info online. After speaking with several other attorneys on the phone, Matt was the only one that agreed to meet me in person that evening (10pm on a Sunday night). We met at Matt's office. He immediately made me feel calmer about my situation. He walked me through the entire set of potential outcomes with my case, and told me he would work with me step by step through the entire process to ensure the best possible outcome. His administrative staff is the very best. The entire office was extremely diligent and responsive throughout my case. He is brutally honest with everything. Never did Matt set false expectations about the charges I was facing. But he knows the Georgia system inside and out. He had me take courses, meet with drug counselors for evaluations, take a mandatory DUI drivers Ed course, and do some community service, all before we ever stepped into court. By the time my case was ready for court, he had prepared my story so well that we were both confident that there would be a positive outcome. In my case, a valuable life lesson was learned, I was able to move on, and Matt helped ensure a reduced charge down to a minor traffic violation. Bottom line, Georiga makes fighting DUI charges nearly impossible, and extremely complex. Matt Kilgo knows how to fight your charges for the best possible outcome.

I met with over five different law firms before settling on Hawkins Law Firm (and Matt specifically) to handle my DUI charge. He took the time to meet with me, go over my case, and set realistic expectations. I'm happy to say that Matt was able to get the DUI reduced to a Reckless Driving, and I was able to keep my license (and more importantly my job)!

Great lawyer who knows the rules and sets realistic expectations for your outcome. My case was DUI. And if you are reading this I don't need to tell you about the stress that goes along with that. He is very good at explaining what is likely to happen...he can't tell you what will happen. But, for me, knowing he was lock step with me throughout the process (meaning he took calls at all hours graciously) put my mind at ease...kind of. Good luck! And I highly endorse Matt.
