State v. JW

Case Conclusion Date: 12.01.2011

Practice Area: Criminal defense

Outcome: All Charges Dismissed and arrest expunged

Description: JW was charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Burglary in a home invasion case. JW was facing a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 15 years to life and the possibility of the death penalty. We were able to show that JW had been framed by an old flame who was bitter about their breakup. After tough investigation and negotiation, including digging up the out-of state criminal convictions of the accuser, the State elected to dismiss all charges against JW and allow JW's arrest record to be expunged.
