Hiring Scott Cummins was the best decision I've ever made.

Scott Cummins got my DUI case dismissed during pre-trial motions. Every piece of evidence was suppressed. That meant that I didn't even have to bear the expense and time of a trial. He is extremely thorough and his personal investment in getting the best result possible for his client is obvious. ...It was also clear to me that he is highly respected by the officers, prosecutors, and judges. As a law student myself, I deal with lawyers and future lawyers every day, and Scott impressed me more than practically anyone I've met. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in a situation where you need a DUI lawyer, I cannot express how much I would recommend Scott Cummins.

Exceptional

Scott did an exceptional job building a defense for my son's DUI case. He and his team were meticulous, and relentless in obtaining and reviewing evidence. He is also well known and respected in the legal and law enforcement communities, which helped when he was developing a strategy and negotiating... with the prosecution. Scott was always realistic, solicited and respected our opinions, and was sensitive to our personal circumstances. Most importantly, he was successful in negotiating the best outcome under the circumstances.

DUI charge reduced to Reckless Driving

In September, 2011 I ran a stop sign when a vehicle was running up on me from behind in an unsafe area. An illegal search of my vehicle found I had a pill bag with over the counter pills and 4 prescription pills. I had documentation for this medication, which was not looked at, I was charged with... 'Drugs Not in the Original Container' and DUI.063, driving less safe. I spent 16 hours in jail because the former charge was a Felony Charge. Scott Cummins was remarkable in helping me through this nightmare. I have never even had a speeding ticket. After meeting with Mr. Cummins I felt confident I was in the right hands. Through out the whole process Mr. Cummins and his staff were there to answer any questions I had and ease my concerns all the while remaining honest about what I was up against. Mr. Cummins was able to work with the D.A. and I received a lesser charge of 'Reckless Driving', the medication charge was dropped. I did not have to spend any additional time in jail, I paid a hefty fine, have completed the RRP / DUI and Defensive Driving classes, have 80 hours of community service, and 1 year probation. I would recommend Mr. Cummins to anyone needing help of this nature. Because of his diligence, professionalism and dedication I am able to keep my job, and move on with my life. I am very thankful.

Review

Last year our world was turned upside down. Our son, who had never been in any trouble, was involved in a car accident that killed one man, injured one lady and injured a Georgia state trooper. We are from another state and had no idea who to call. We were referred to Scott Cummins by the CFO of o...ur son's company, who happened to be a local resident. He indicated that Scott Cummins had the reputation of being one of the best criminal defense attorneys in that area. Our son blew a 0.00 at the scene and then was taken to a local hospital for blood testing. He was charged with 12 felony counts and faced up to 67 years in prison. Eventually, all of the DUI charges were dropped and our son took a blind plea. He was sentenced to 15 years to serve 3. Subsequently, several months later Mr. Cummins filed a request for a reduction in sentence and the judge reduced our son’s initial sentence down to 15 years to serve 1 and reduced his community service from 1,000 hours to 240 hours. Mr. Cummins was instrumental in leading and guiding us through a legal maze. He also maintains a good working relationship with the prosecutors and judges in his area. I think what says the most about his representation is that while we never thought our son deserved to spend one day in prison, we knew realistically what we were facing. Mr. Cummins was always upright and forthcoming with us; even when he had to be brutally honest. After the fact, we have never doubted that we made the right decision in retaining Mr. Cummins. We are hyper aware of accidents in that area of Georgia now and have seen many cases of young people who are sentenced to 15 years and generally serve 7 to 8 years. Not only did Mr. Cummins take a professional interest in this case; he and his entire staff took a personal interest also. In hindsight, we would definitely not change our choice in choosing Mr. Cummins as our defense attorney. His help and guidance literally meant that our son would not have to spend the rest of his life in prison and miss the birth and life of his first child.
