Amazing Counsel, Warrior, Mentor, Friend

Steve is all these and more. He showed genuine care over my time-sensitive custody case and held my hand the entire way through this painful process. With him as my counsel, Steve helped me achieve the best result in what came out of my divorce/child custody battle. It was a complicated matter, ...as I took on a permanent change of station from Georgia to an overseas assignment. I went ahead of my family to make arrangements. During that time, my husband served me with a custody complaint from his home state (outside GA). When I called Steve about it, he passionately felt that we stood a chance contesting jurisdiction based on the UCCJEA, yet he was careful in giving me no promises up front. At this time I had another attorney representing me from the state holding this complaint over my head, and Steve was in lock-step with my other counsel, proving to be instrumental in getting this case dismissed from the other state. He successfully advocated for jurisdiction to remain with Georgia, helped me through a temporary hearing to have my daughter come home, and fought like hell in encouraging the judge to award me primary custody at our final hearing. Moreover, from officer to officer, he's expressed care about my career and was a powerful mentor for me. Although I endured all kinds of difficult emotions through this case, I truly appreciated its journey when it meant getting to work with Steve. If you need a strong, caring and honest attorney who will stand by your side regardless of the probability of the outcome, I don't recommend anyone other than Steve to have your back.

Handled my second case and won again!!!

Steve and his wife handled my divorce and now an ugly 2 year custody battle... both times we won. This duo are unbeatable and I dare someone to try this “Dream Team”! Steve will guide you to the finish line and you will win if you listen to his advice. I truly felt Steve fought for me and my son and ...I am truly thankful.

Absolute Best

Steven Shewmaker is the best lawyer i've had the pleasure of hiring and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Mr. Shewmaker handled my full custody case with the professionalism and integrity that is expected of an army officer, when he tells you I recommend this option you know he's giving you the best ...option on the table that's more beneficial. Excellent Cousel

Steve was very detailed, knowledgeable of family law, and provided the right balance of "good cop & bad cop" when needed to guide me through a difficult process. He zealously advocated on my behalf while never losing sight, nor failing to remind me of doing what was in the best interest of my childre...n. He kept me out of jail. Enough said. I highly recommend him as he produced satisfactory results.

Excellent Lawyer

I have dealt with a few lawyers in the past and Steve Shewmaker outshines them all. His initial consultation was straight forward and fair. I was facing an uphill battle and he let me know that upfront. He was very knowledgeable and advised me accordingly. Every email that was sent by opposing counse...l was shared with me immediately. Every new development in my case was brought to my attention within an hour. Every phone call I made, email I sent, or question I had was answered quickly by either Steve himself or one of his team members. I always felt like my case was important and I was well taken care of. Against difficult odds my requests were granted. I am now the primary physical custodian of my beautiful daughter.
