Amazing Counsel, Warrior, Mentor, Friend

Steve is all these and more. He showed genuine care over my time-sensitive custody case and held my hand the entire way through this painful process. With him as my counsel, Steve helped me achieve the best result in what came out of my divorce/child custody battle. It was a complicated matter, ...as I took on a permanent change of station from Georgia to an overseas assignment. I went ahead of my family to make arrangements. During that time, my husband served me with a custody complaint from his home state (outside GA). When I called Steve about it, he passionately felt that we stood a chance contesting jurisdiction based on the UCCJEA, yet he was careful in giving me no promises up front. At this time I had another attorney representing me from the state holding this complaint over my head, and Steve was in lock-step with my other counsel, proving to be instrumental in getting this case dismissed from the other state. He successfully advocated for jurisdiction to remain with Georgia, helped me through a temporary hearing to have my daughter come home, and fought like hell in encouraging the judge to award me primary custody at our final hearing. Moreover, from officer to officer, he's expressed care about my career and was a powerful mentor for me. Although I endured all kinds of difficult emotions through this case, I truly appreciated its journey when it meant getting to work with Steve. If you need a strong, caring and honest attorney who will stand by your side regardless of the probability of the outcome, I don't recommend anyone other than Steve to have your back.

TPO re-hearing

Steve Shewmaker, of Shewmaker and Shewmaker(https://shewmakerandshewmaker.com), guided me through every step of the process and ultimately got my case dismissed when my previous attorney could not and said I would not win a re-hearing. He is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and I consider myself... fortunate to have known him. This was an extremely emotional time in my life, and he handled it with empathy and compassion. The entire experience was positive and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his expertise.

He was extremely inspiring and professional .

I don't know where to start. I don't think words can describe the amazing job Steven Shewmaker did for my case. I was hopeless and did not trust anyone after dealing with that problem for over 4 years. Faith and a recommendation brought me to him on the day of his birthday. si will never forget that.... I called his law firm exactly 10 minutes before 5pm. I was looking for a lawyer. He answered the phone and listened to all i had to say. in the middle of my frustration. I had court in just few days and i was running out of time . He made time on his calendar and gave me an appointment 2 days later. After i met with him and i left his office, all i could think is that, he was the right person to fight for me since i couldn't do it on my own and specially because he had an honorably background. I only wanted justice. He was professional and i was just impressed how he handled the case in front of the judge and It was very very INSPIRING. He got justice for me and he made me believe in the justice again. If you need a lawyer that fight for justice and for the truth, just look for him. He was amazing. The justice and law does exist. Someone who cares

Steve really went above and beyond for me. Not only did he exert masterful diplomacy with the Plaintif, but he was in contact with me every step of the way. He truly cares about his clients. Even after the case, Steve made sure that I have his cell phone number and offered up his friendship in case I... ever need to just talk to someone. His rates are very reasonable and truth be told, I would have paid more after seeing him work and show his true character throughout it all. Totally Changed My Negative Perception of Lawyers

He was an outstandi...ng attorney, a knowledgeable military expert, a form of support and guidance for my brother, and a trusted confidant. I can honestly say that before Shewmaker, I had no trust in attorneys. After Shewmaker, I know that there are amazing attorneys that fight for their clients and deliver the results they promise. Mr. Shewmaker was always honest with us, letting us know what to expect in court, and preparing my brother for the chaos ahead. There's a reason why his rating is 100%.
