As stated by another client, this lawyer comes to court unprepared and lacks knowledge of the law. He blatently lied to the judge in my case and asserted performing services that he cannot provide physical proof to substaniate. Because of his own wrongdoing, he has selectively withheld legal document...s from my case file in violation of the Georgia Supreme Court mandates. This behavior is hardly surprising. His own site lists 3000 clients in 8 years or 7.2 clients per week plus he has numerous extracurricular activities. Griggs runs his practice like a public defender but he expects the payments of seasoned litigator.Unfotunately, he does not act like a seasoned litigator. As a client, you need a firm contract with a clear listing of terms and must force him to honor it (which will be difficult). Every item should be included in detail otherwise you will have later issues. If the contact says call witnesses, list them by name and phone number in the contract and make him write a time/date of contact. I know that this sounds excessive but it is good advice based on my experience. The best advice is to take the time to find a lawyer who knows the law including case law and will do more for your money than file repeated continuances.

Use this attorney at your own risk! He is not responsive at all. Communication will be a huge problem. Diligence is another concern with this lawyer. You must constantly check to see if he has completed tasks in a timely manner. Donot sign the contract that his mother prints for you. Discuss the term...s with him and get a clear understanding of what the contract covers. DONOT sign the contract if it says nonrefundable. Also, he loves to be in the media. He loves high profile cases. Although, he doesn't follow through with his work concerning those cases either. Just do yourself a favor and don't stop here!

As a former client, my experience with Attorney Gerald Griggs was horrible! He Failed to show up for scheduled court dates and appeared late. Also, he exemplified incompetence by not being prepared for trial. Thus, not knowing what to do or expect at trial or the process itself, I had to refer to th...e internet. He actually made himself unavailable until the day before trial began. Needless to say the Prosecuting attorney prevailed. During the entire litigation Attorney Griggs showed extreme lack of communication and would only reply to emails with sentence fragments ignoring the legal questions asked and never returned calls. Instead, his mother would call and attempt to give legal advice or prayer suggestions regarding the case sometimes his paralegal would call to confirm the court date. In essence, Attorney Griggs is not the best choice in my opinion and is a totally unprepared attorney who simply refuses to communicate with his clients. He has a shy like attitude and needs severe improvement on people skills. The excuse given for lack of communication was always the same, Attorney Griggs is in court- he has hundreds of cases on his calendar. On the other hand, his enthusiasm seems to be for bullying and GLAAD (using small media outlets to gain popularity) which are great causes! But he is a young attorney and hopefully he will become better as he continues to practice law.
