I have been practicing law for over 35 years and, during that time, have built extensive relationships within the legal and law enforcement communities throughout Georgia. I have successfully defended thousands of clients and tried over 300 cases in Municipal, State, Superior and Federal Courts. I also have completed extensive post-graduate work in counseling and psychology while working as a Probation Officer in Fulton and DeKalb Counties. This multi-faceted experience has not only made me aggressive in fighting for the rights of all my clients, it has also enabled me to have a better understanding of people--clients, judges, prosecutors--and their concerns. I am a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), whose motto is "Liberty's Last Champion."
I am a Founding Member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD) at Harvard University. (The Founding NCDD Members represent the original 100 DUI defense attorneys from across the nation who were invited by the original 10 Founding Fathers to participate in and sponsor the creation of the College. I was one of only eight selected in Georgia.) I am also a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL), and the Georgia Chapter of Defense of Drinking Drivers (DODD). I am NHTSA-certified in field sobriety testing and the Intoxilyzer breath-testing device.
Prior to my legal career, I was an offensive lineman for the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets. I feel that I am able to bring the NFL themes of discipline, team work, the highest level of performance, and the love of winning when managing my firm.
